For Dime #39 (Kobe cover) we went to the Boston Celtics‘ practice facility in Waltham, Mass., for a fashion shoot with the Celts’ starting PG Rajon Rondo. While the Big 3 have obviously done their thing this year, Rondo’s emergence has been vital to Boston’s dominance.
There were tons of questions surrounding Rajon heading into the season; specifically critics wondered if he’d be able to handle the responsibility of running the Celtics’ suddenly elite offense. Rondo responded with solid second-season averages of more than 10 points, five dimes and four boards a game and he heads into tonight’s Game 2 vs. Atlanta coming off Game 1 line of 15 points, nine dimes and five boards in a Boston blowout.
Here’s the behind-the-scenes footage of our shoot with Rajon…

you have to give it to Rondo, he was suppose to be the “weak link” but you can tell he put in the work & is actually a “X factor” now for the C’s. I would probably walk right past him in the street because he doesn’t have that look of a NBA player.

that’s funny…he actually looks like a grown man in a suit. On the court, he looks like a member of the Jackson 5.

Juanito…
Wrong son…Championship teams need a BJ type, and Rondo actually is better because of the way he’s been seeing the floor. I hate to say it but dude is the biggest reason why the Big3 works so well. He’s getting it to them in the right spots.

I love Rondo. Have you heard him in an interview before this? This is a good kid. You know he would have to have a solid head on his shoulders to deal with this season. Good for him.
Go Spurs.

“I like Seven Jeans, Rock & Republics, True Religion.” Say what?! All their denim is weak. I guess if somebody has rapped about it, it’s cool?! WTF?
“Be your own person.” Umm, okay. Maybe he should take his own advice. Also, somebody should teach him how to knot a tie.
