Breaking News: Indiana Boots Two

From ESPN.com this morning:

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana University basketball team needs a new coach, and now it’s apparent the Hoosiers will need to replace a host of players, too, after starters Armon Bassett and Jamarcus Ellis were dismissed by interim coach Dan Dakich.

Multiple sources told The Indianapolis Star that Bassett and Ellis were kicked off the team after first missing a pre-arranged appointment last week, and then not reporting for a 6 a.m. run the following day. The run was punishment for missing the meeting.

I’m sure there are tons of quality programs that are dying for guys that don’t listen to their coach. Idiots.

I am SO glad to hear that these two morons got the boot. It’s a great way to show that even athletes need to be accountable, something a lot of players have forgotten. Best of luck to the mooks.

What a travesty. So how long will IU basketball stink? As long as you have a soon-to-be-unemployed, lame-duck coach still making decisions — it will be bad for a very long time.
