this team got me hooked on college hoops…
Ed and Charles
Tyus and Toby
That squad was really fun to watch.
Too bad none of them did squat in the pros. oh well.

QQ says:
Comparing Kevin Love to Ed O Bannon is harsh, but I see where ya’ll coming from. Strong guy with an unpolished skill set. But I hope this turns out positively for Love; he seems like a great guy, and one who doesn’t have an enormous ego that’ll deter him from learning the game (unlike so many ballers out there. I’m talking to you, OJ Mayo.

Jim says:
I thought all the signs out of USC this year were, amazingly, really good for OJ adapting his game.
But also, Ed had a reputation for being too nice and lacking fire. I don’t think we’ve seen that from Love, but I’m not big on his potential because of his lack of size and athleticism.

what’s the comparison apart from the fact they both went to UCLA?
If this is Love’s future, then he’s toast

Austin Burton says:
It wasn’t even anything that deep. I wasn’t comparing Love to O’Bannon at all as a player; Ed just popped into my head as a hyped-up UCLA Lottery pick.

@QQ
I don’t agree. Love is over-hyped. His body-game combination will not work in the NBA like it did in high school.
Also, he doesn’t seem willing to put in the time to get in shape which is inexcusable for an all-american.
Second, how can someone who was completely shut down by Joey Dorsey and Robert Dozier think that he ready for the NBA?
To me Love is a clear case of someone who blinded by his hype (see Shavlik Randolph).

Remy Nguyen says:
Kevin Love is a smaller version of Greg Ostertag or Luc Longley. Take your pick, son.
At least Luc Longley can score, just a little bit though.

Nick Barnes says:
Drop that. K-Love is like Brad Miller. He can pass and shoot, he’s not just some bum.
April 18th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
K Dizzle says:
he’s only 6’9 i’ve heard so he won’t even be playin center. don’t feel good about him at all. not very athletic but he can shoot, which won’t matter when every other point guard can get up in ur grill. dude shpuld pray he doesn’t end up in memphis, maybe minny would work cuz al jeff and foye will carry this squad.

lmfaoo what a drop off..selling cars in vegas…yo ur nickname is kinda harsh dont u think?

word says:
I agree with kobeef, hope he ready to end up in Europe. Stupid move on his part, he is not ready plus he isn’t even in shape, too busy rapping clearly. And yea Ed is a car salesman, I remember reading this quote:
“People see me and remember me and I’m proud to tell them — ‘No, I don’t play. No, I don’t coach. Yes, I sell cars.’”
now thats some shit right there.
and Hansborough will be more productive than Shavlik come on, Love is more like him than anything.

Boy was I a Ed O’Bannon fan, him & his brother. I would always play with UCLA on the college video game “Coach K” on sega. Oh well, at least I won some $$ off that. How about some love for the small wonder Ty Edny
