    Did somebody digitally remove his gut and 40 extra pounds from that picture?

  2. jamesinva says:

    always been a huge kemp fan. too much negative media. yes he Fd up and ruined what could have been one of the best PFs of all time, but i give him madd props for getting into shape. i mean look at him, hes looking fit compared to when he was BIG. he probably cant fly anymore, but shawn kemp will alwaysbe one of my favorites. would LOVE to see him get back in the L as a backup but chances might be slim. who knows maybe he still got hops.

  3. Kobeef says:

    The thing is, even a 38 year old Shawn Kemp in OK but not great shape is a better athlete than 90% of the basketball players in america. I mean, he picked Crawford’s pocket in the game…that is just insane for a 6′10 PF.

    I know I would be scared shitless if I saw the dude in the picture (Kemp) coming at me in the low post.

    That said, Amare, Dwight, Jsmoove or other low-post starters would eat him alive.

    On another note, how does a city with the basketball heritage that Seattle has lose its NBA team? There aren’t many players that have produced this many present day star players, and no, NY, Starbury and ‘Bassy don’t compare to Roy, Crawford, Nate and Marvin Williams.

  4. Remy Nguyen says:

    Always rooting for Shawn. I don’t want him to be the psoter child of wasted potential.

  5. fallinup says:

    Damn, oh the memories. Shawn went to high school about 20 minutes away from where I live….it’s good to see him looking awesome. Too bad it took him this long to return. Best Wishes, Reign Man….one of the baddest ballers the NBA had to offer.

  6. Three Stacks says:

    I think those are all his kids lined up in the background.

  7. Kobeef says:

    sorry - that should say cities….which city has the the most current day NBA stars?

    Akron = Lebron
    Philly = Kobe
    NY, NY = Artest, Charlie V., Stephon, Bassy
    Baltimore = Melo
    Seattle = Roy, Nate, Marvin Williams, Jamal Crawford

  8. GEE...game so tight they call it virgin says:

    My favorite in-game dunker of all time.

  9. Scott says:

    Shawn Kemp is an enigma. I think there are TONS of people who’ll always be Kemp fans, regardless of his f’ups. He may have been one of the more fun players to watch in the L. Its pretty amazing to hear him tell the Bounce guy that he balls every week in tourney’s around the US. He needs to get on an And1 tour, lol.

  10. doc says:

    Look in shape.

  11. Celts Fan says:

    The Reign Man is back! I loved watching him play with GP back in the 90s. What a force. Too bad about the drugs and donuts. Good to see he’s got his life back together (or at least his gut anyway.)

    Three Stacks, that’s cold man. His kids lined up behind him? classic…

  12. Diego says:

    @ Three Stacks:

    LMAO.

  13. BxBaller says:

    This is VERY nice to hear. I’m glad that he’s doing well for himself. He’s probably not going to make an NBA comeback, it’s still nice to hear that he’s still ballin.

    Yo Kobeef, you forgot about Rafer for NYC.

  14. JA says:

    Three Stacks your post is priceless.

    Kemp is one of my all time favorites.

  15. BxBaller says:

    Oh and I forgot about Odom, Smush Parker, & Tinsley.

  16. YOUNNGFED says:

    SK is Back Baby!

  17. Diego says:

    How about the jet–Jason Terry–for Seattle?

  18. doc says:

    bx are u naming stars or players because a lot of them cats aint stars

  19. doc says:

    Kobe,Sheed,Mckie,Kyle lowrey,rasul butler,flip murry,hakim warrick,malik rose,mardy collins.I think thats it it might be more though.

  20. Kudabeen says:

    @kobebeef

    it would be cool to get a legit breakdown of what cities are best represented. I guess if we limit to stars, then we have talk about what being a star encompasses

    Philly has Sheed and Rip (sorta Coatsville, PA) too (Rasul Butler, John Salmons, Jameer Nelson (sorta Chester PA), Kyle Lowry,

    What about player out of the different areas in Cali: Pierce, Tayshuan, Powe, Jkidd,tyson chandler, etc.

    Baltimore - Durant from there too

    ATL - Josh Smith, JR Smith, Lou Williams, Dwight

    CHI - D Wade, Iguadola, Finley, Curry, Derrick Rose,

    NJ - Shaq, Bynum, D West, Randy Foye

    Hey Dime didn’t you guys cover this? I’m curious how it really breaks down in the league. I’ve been hearing more in more how Seattle is really dominating the talent pool as of late. How is that translating in to players in the L?

  21. Big Freeze says:

    It looks like the cocaine diet worked great for Shawn Kemp.

  22. Austin Burton says:

    Seattle’s got Brandon Roy, Jason Terry, Jamal Crawford, Marvin Williams, Rodney Stuckey, Spencer Hawes, Nate Robinson and Aaron Brooks. Marcus Williams got drafted in ‘07 but isn’t currently playing with anyone. And keep an eye out for Tony Wroten, the best rising sophomore high schooler in the country; he’s from Seattle. WE’RE TAKING OVER!

    Seriously, though, the Kings can’t be happy to hear Spencer was getting taken to school by 38-year-old Shawn Kemp.

  23. Brado says:

    If he is in great shape, which it looks like he is…. would he be more able to ball in the L than we admit since his body has been out of the game for so long he hasn’t taken the beating that most players take?

    Send him to GS to run with Nelly!

  24. Jah says:

    Shawn Kemp = my favorite NBA Player of all-time!

  25. samuel says:

    lmao @ three stacks

    and kudabeen, u left baron davis off of the cali list!!

  26. dj ho says:

    does anyone have any footage of kemp at the tournament? e.g. youtube clip. would be awesome to see him playing again.

  27. bill says:

    three stacks post of the year ha ha :)

  28. phizzak says:

    man, it was 2 blocks from my house… too bad I didn’t hear of it until afterwards. FFF
