Lakers/Spurs Game 1 Halftime Notes
Photo. Chris Sembrot* The Lakers are down 8 and Kobe only has 2 points. What does that mean? Bruce Bowen best come equipped for the second half because you have to think Bryant is going to look to unleash his offensive game on the Spurs.
* One reason Kobe hasn’t had to flip the switch is because that Lakers second unit has played some great basketball. Phil smartly milked that crew for everything they had in the first half while giving Kobe, Pau and D-Fish plenty of rest.
* The Lakers have been content to let Tim Duncan go one-on-one with Pau and Ronny Turiaf, willing to let TD get his without giving up open looks to three-point shooters. Towards the end of the half though, it started to get a little out of hand as Duncan really started to have his way with Gasol. Look for some sort of double-team strategy from LA in the second half.
* Tony Parker is kind of killing the Laker guards (12 points and five dimes). Look for more D-Fish on him and maybe even some Kobe in the 2nd half

vaughn has no business running the offense these days.

man i hate the kobe, and i hate the spurs, but i think i hate the spurs more because the lakers have pau gasol and odom and i like both of them so go lakers….this must b the only final in recent years where two of the NBA’S most hated teams go at it.. the playa hatas ballgame

Anyone else discovered the live stream on TNT.tv? Pretty weird camera work but cool cause you see all the game cameras. Lots of crowd scanning.

man that turned ugly. spurs ran out of gas, i guess the sleep on the plane in NO did them in. kobe got no rest in the second half, lakers gave it everything and won by a couple. spurs gave it everything and lost by a couple. feeling ok as a spurs fan because we are on the raod. the only issue i have is not playing hte bigs in the second, oberto played what 2 minutes in the second half, horry came in for like 30 seconds, thomas not at all, spurs have to feel goo about the loss but not good about being up 20 and losing.
we will see friday!

did anyone catch kobe trying to pull a chirs paul and “tattle taleing” but covering his face with the ball.
now here is my question, the camera angle, they showed an “above floor” angle BUT only on the spurs end of the floor. i saw it a couple times and though “is it just me?” and so i watched much closer, and it never one time showed that angle over the lakers offense. so no “conspiricy” but i find it odd that they would show the way the spurs offense is running for he cameras.
just odd, maybe nothing i guess.
