That appears to be the way Pat Riley is approaching the next two NBA seasons for his Miami Heat. By all accounts, assuming Miami gets the No. 1 pick, he seems to like the idea of drafting Derrick Rose ahead of Michael Beasley. Common sense would say then that he’d need to get Rose and Dwyane Wade a dominant inside presence to balance out their offense.
The best free fit of this summer’s free agent class would be Elton Brand, who already tried to sign with the Heat once in the past. But if that doesn’t work out? Carlos Boozer would be a solid Plan B next summer (Booze has a place in Miami).
