Orlando NBA Pre-Draft Camp, Day 1
The NBA Pre-Draft Camp at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex kicked off today and our friends at DraftExpress.com are there to keep us up on who is making noise and who is playing their way right out of the draft.
The NBA Pre-Draft Camp kicked off today outside of Orlando, Florida at Disney’s World Wide of Sports Complex. Every NBA team is in attendance, including a number of very high-profile faces, such as Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Chris Mullin, Kevin McHale, Scott Skiles, Patrick Ewing, Steve Kerr and countless others, who are walking around at all times.
The Pre-Draft camp is getting very good reviews early on, as the rosters assembled are extremely intriguing considering the type of high-profile college players that ended up making it out here. Wayne Ellington, Shan Foster, J.R. Giddens, Malik Hairston, Devon Hardin, Richard Hendrix, Davon Jefferson, Lester Hudson, Ty Lawson, Maarty Leunen, David Padgett, Trent Plaisted, Joey Dorsey, Gary Forbes, Pat Calathes, Richard Roby and Bryce Taylor are just some of the names highlighting the list. “I like this roster a lot better than the last four or five years” Detroit Pistons Director of Basketball Operations Tony Ronzone.This speaks volumes about the depth of this draft, as a large number of quality NCAA players need to work their way into the first round or the top half of the second round, unlike anything we’ve seen in years past. A few eyebrows were raised by players like Jamont Gordon and Kyle Weaver shockingly deciding to pass up their invites to the pre-draft camp, but very few people wanted to dwell on it besides saying that they are clearly digging their own grave, Weaver especially, who can’t go back to school like Gordon can once he realizes that there is a strong possibility he will go undrafted.

Can D-Leaguers participate in this pre-draft workout camp? If not….and this process is only for college/international players, then what is the process of D-League players to enter the NBA draft and take part in camps and workout sessions?

Yes, if they are eligible for the NBA Draft. Mike Taylor is at the 2008 Orlando camp. He was at Iowa State junior year, and at the Idaho Stampede this year, where he received notice. So, probably the answer is yes, if they are eligible.

‘Sup, daquest?on a.k.a Heavy Artillery? I love the assist to turnover ratio. Also like the free throw rate. Gotta get minutes and make more shots, actually passing a hair too much, but it’s good to get teammates involved for open looks. If you work on finishing plays around the rim, slowly work on a 3-point shot, and continue brush up the playmaking skills, dribble drive, get in the paint, you could eventually make it here. Also, continue to work on defense, would like to see the fouls cut down, and steals increase. But I love that high assist rate, especially within limited minutes. Keep on playing, and hope all of you here are watching the NBA playoffs!

yea imma b there and no i wont b a groupie i aint u doc.. ive already got a plan since i cant play in the ncaa because ive played professionally here, in a few years im gonna be good enough to join the national team hopefully imma get exposure playing international ball and voula im gonna try to go to the camp.. hey at least ive done phase one of my plan and got my education through basketball what have u done doc??
