the spurs have udoka, bowen, TD,TP, manu, mahinmi, splitter, and barry next year, and they will still have like 15 mil left over to play with.

i think ian and splitter will fill the “big man” need fairly well. i could see them picking up kurt again but for real cheap. would not hurt my feelings to have kurt thomas for the vet minimum next year. barry is just not 100% playing shape right now but danm the man can still shoot

Youngfed, post 99 is a Tyson quote. Remember when he and Lennox Lewis got into it at the pre-fight press conference and then Tyson lost his mind and started yelling at a reporter, challenging him to fight? He rattled off a string of swears and insults that would’ve been great on its own, then he capped it off with a classic line of, “I’ll f&ck you til you love me f*ggot!” It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

@ranger – yes, i must say they did one hell of a job winning championships without spending some serious $.

The core is still good. But they can’t win anymore if they have to depend on people like finley to make shots. The defense is there, but they need another offensive big and a shooter to come off the bench.

I’m hoping they do make valuable additions to this roster for next year. TD is still all NBA material for 3-4 years.

Same thing for Utah – Sloan has made that team as good as it can get. Very little room for improvement there.

Spurs should keep Udoka, Duncan, Bowen, Parker and Ginobili – that’s it. We’re getting Tiago Splitter next year; he’s like Pau Gasol, but actually plays defense.

Spurs are going to be TIGHT next year. Bynum can kiss it

i agree about the game 7 and win lose all that

remember, the spurs are dropping all the old legs off except barry and bowen, all the rest of the old legs are done. spurs also have like 17 million under the tax to spend on free agents for next season. my guess is the spurs will be around for a few more years.

game 7 is all you can ask, for any team in the L. They came to play and gave it their best, if they win great, and if they lose, that’s just the way the world works for this year. Props to both teams for a very entertaining series.

This is the last year the Spurs can possibly win another one without making serious additions to their roster. Next year, the Lakers are going to kill the L, if they improve defensively.

Spurs deserve to lose? I won’t even dignify that with justification. At least you admit you are “whack”, sir.

They may lose Game 7 and if so it was another great run, at least they knocked off the Kleenex Suns who were out for blood. That was extreeemely satisfying, not quite as good as the ‘chip but as close as you can get without winning it all.
