Kobe’s MVP Gift
This isn’t the watchBack at the MVP press conference, Kobe sincerely thanked his teammates for being so instrumental in his first MVP award. He then started cracking up when he called on Luke Walton, who snuck into the media section to ask Mamba a question… Would Kobe put his money where his mouth is and get any gifts for those teammates?! Kobe’s reponse? Y’all ain’t gonna get $&#%.
But after making it to the Western Conference Finals, maybe Kobe went back on his word, or maybe he just needed some time. He presented each player on the team with a $9,800 personalized Swiss watch as a thank-you gift for his first MVP.

When Luke Walton asked that question during the press conference, Kobe jokinly said, “Come on man, spoiled athletes. What ever happened to a pat on the back?” Then he looked at Luke and said “You know I will.” I don’t recall him saying “Ya’ll aint gonna get $#%&”
