Who is the Playoffs MVP?

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONNot this guy. (photo. Monte Isom)

ESPN.com’s John Hollinger posted his playoff awards, based on performances strictly in the postseason. Chris Paul got his MVP, Tayshaun Prince was named Defensive Player of the Playoffs, David West got the Breakout Player of the Playoffs, and the Pistons got the “Ski Mask Award,” whatever that is.

One particularly eyebrow-raising pick? Luke Walton as the Sixth Man of the Playoffs. Given that Manu was just bumped to San Antonio’s starting five it makes sense that he wouldn’t get it, but Walton? It seems every notable moment he’s had in this postseason has been a turnover or some other mistake. (At the same time, Vlad Radmanovic for the “Worst Excuse for a Starter” trophy.)

Chris Paul has been the most consistent overall his -to-assist-to-turnover ratio is ri-dirk-u-lous!
That line on “Slalom” Radmonovic is funny! I think the reason Phil plays him is simple..dude is a space cadet..if he didn’t start he would quickly lose interest. Phil at least wants to get some threes out of him before he puts him on the shelf and plus this allows a facilitator (Walton) and a scorer(Sasha) to come in with the second unit.

Damn they given out playoff awards in the second round. MVP can only come from the team that actually wins it all.

  3. Brado says:

    LA - Kobe
    SA - Ginobli
    UT - D-Will
    NO - CP3
    DT - Billups
    BOS - KG?
    CL - Nobody

I’d have to say it would go in this order:

    Kobe
    CP3
    D-Will

  4. Korady says:

Had to get this in somewhere - watching Rondo getting interviewed pregame on Sports Center, he looks a lot like Smush Parker. Just add the rows

  5. Tim says:

Billups is not the Pistons MVP…tayshaun prince is.

Without Billups they still won…without Prince Hedo wins two games for Orlando.

    Its not even over yet.

They going off Luke for the first round.

  8. G says:

Unbelievable Kobe gets no love for MVP of the playoffs. It is just a sports writers opinion, but come on…33pts 7rebs 7asts on clearly that team that is playing the best in the league right now, what a joke.

I’m a point guard myself so I got much love for CP3, but Kobe is leading his team attacking at the right times and the most important of all is doing it efficiently.

  9. poop says:

yeah, luke was solid in the first round. if he wasnt sick earlier he might have done more

  10. Dank says:

lol DIRK!!! hes not even MVP of anything…

and wow, i guess Hollinger must be running out of material, we still got june to go and he names paul playoff MVP? and im a laker fan, but Luke Walton is NOT the 6th man. i’d give it to vujacic over anybody else on the lakers. or ronnie

  11. word says:

rondo does not look like smush at all, not all black ppl look alike
