You have to have someone you can pound the ball into consistently throughout the game...Garnett or Howard...LBJ is going to do your scoring....Ray is only there for crunch time shots and to produce when the double teams come...CP3 is there orchestrate the offense...Either way, you would have to have a big to start your franchise with, so D Howard is the first pick in the draft

A championship team can't have 5 superstars. Who gets the ball when? You have to have role players. Here's a team that would win the championship because it fills every need:
PG-DERON WILLIAMS: All around great point guard, good d, clutch shooting
SG-RAJA BELL: Defense and 3-point shooting
SF-GERALD WALLACE: Defense and finisher
PF-EMEKA OKAFOR: Interior D and rebounding
C-PAU GASOL: Post scoring, rebounding, passing
SIXTH MAN-MANU GINOBILI: No explanation needed

If age is a factor...here is the revamped starting five:

PG-CP3...or Candace Parker...
SG-A quality 3 point shooter or Jesus Shuttlesworth
SF-LBJ
PF-Garnett
C-D Howard

I like Wade, but he's a slasher and there hasn't been too many quality people to come out the last few drafts who can actually shoot beyond 18 feet...so my 2 guard would be a quality 3 point shooter...probably Jesus Shuttlesworth aka Ray Allen

If the franchise is all time and current...here is my starting five:

PG-Magic
SG-Jordan
SF-Bird
PF-Dwight Howard
C-Bill Russell

No one would be able to match the height, the potential, or the fire of any of these guys. Magic is easily averaging 20 assists a game, Jordan still scores his 25-30, Bird leads the league in 3-point attempts and percentage, Howard and Russell both average double doubles and are 1 and 2 in blocks.

Chris Bosh is very good, but there's no way I'd take him over Dwight Howard. For starters, Bosh hasn't played more than 70 games in a season since his 2nd year in the League. Second, I think Bosh is closer to reaching his ceiling than Dwight is to reaching his peak, and Dwight is already better.

Dwight Howard, you gotta go with the big man first. And his upside is limitless.

"Dwight Howard has nice peices around him and he didn’t get past the 2nd round"

Dwight Howard has Hedo, who was in some kind of mood in the second round due to being named MIP. It went to his head a bit too much. Then he has Rashard Lewis who, bar one or two games, didn't really show up for the post season and then you got midget Nelson. That's it. Given Dwight was the only NBA standard 4 or 5 player in the team, I'd say he wasn't too bad.

Seriously, from the outside in, Orlando's situation is good but we have a max contract player playing out of position, no depth and no starting SG. And no, Mo Evans is no starting-grade SG. I'm just hoping we don't fuck up yet another draft this year.
