A Sign of Trouble for the Spanish National Team?
With less than two months until the Olympic Torch reaches Beijing and the ‘08 games kick off, the Spanish Basketball Federation canned their gold-medal winning coach Pepu Hernandez. How will it impact Pau Gasol, Jose Calderon, and Co.?
Check out the story HERE.

That’s good news for Team USA. I’m looking forward to total domination of the world by Team USA. I’m talkin 40 point blow-outs and alley-oops all day. It should be fun.

It’s obvious that you have no clue that there a quite a lot of temas that will whip the ass of the unbelievable arrogant team USA. I’m really looking forward to see Team USA beaten by Teams like Greece, Spain or Argentina. The time of domination is over since 1992.

yo, I guess you didn’t see the Olympic qualifier last year huh? The shit was a wash. With Kobe on the team, there is no comp. So go drink your tea, eat your crumpets, and keep hating on the best team in the world: USA

wow, what an announcement. It always seemed as if pepu was the perfect fit for this team. they really played with passion and that combined with his great zone defense was great to watch.
hope they will do great regardless, just for the sake of compettion

I heard he wanted to be let out of his contract to find madd money in the NBA.
Or not. lol. But imagine if that was the case. And realistically does anyone think he could land a gig with an NBA squad as a head coach?

as long as Kobe, Lebron and Kidd are running things on Team USA, they will be just fine.
everyone else is playing for silver and bronze. that includes my guys from Argentina and the Spanish team that barely beat them in the world championships last time around.

@Yall, LMAO re. your post 7!
I think the USA will take it in China, but remember in the international competition its all about nailing the open outside jumpers. That driving to the well in traffic shit doesn’t wash. We’ve lost in the past because we haven’t adjusted to the international style of game (and our U.S. big guys relatively suck (e.g., Chris Bosh), except for D. Howard).

LMAO @ post 4 ..
the teams they faced were a joke at the fiba americas championship in 2007, the best ncaa teams could beat pretty much all of them except for say argentina’s B team.
im not saying this edition of team USA is poorly constructed, because they are certainly better than pretty much every usa team since 1996, ill give you that.
but 40 point blowouts against full strength legit contenders in spain and argentina, and not to mention darkhorses like greece and lithuania? i wouldnt be so arrogant as some fans are of team USA winning gold in a romp, but they certainly have a better chance than in past years for sure.

Every tournament same story.. USA will beat every other team, all others are crap. And for 5-6 years USA don’t know for gold.
I agree this is the best USA team since dream team, but reality check is needed..
Argentina, Spain, Russia, Lithuania, Greece.. should be interesting Olympics to watch
