Breaking News: Clippers and Sonics Swap Picks

Well, not quite yet. The Clips plan to trade up to the Sonics’ four-spot to grab Eric Gordon if and only if O.J. Mayo comes off the board before Seattle is slated to pick. And for Sonics fans – this might make the move to OK City just a bit easier…

From Chad Ford’s ESPN Draft Watch

“The Clippers and Sonics have agreed to swap picks as long as the Wolves take O.J. Mayo at No. 3,” writes Ford. “If Mayo isn’t drafted at 3, the deal is off according to two sources close to the information.

With the No. 4 pick, expect the Clippers to take Eric Gordon of Indiana. They’ve coveted him as the type of dominant scorer that they’ve been looking for.

The Sonics will take Brook Lopez or Jerryd Bayless at No. 7. However it seems like Lopez will be the guy.”

    Y R People sweatin Brook Lopez???? dude is a f*ckin bum!! Whoever draft that chump is stupid. Why the f*ck would you want a Varejo or a Noah for your 7th pick? Dude she be in the 20’s somewhere?

  2. godfreyallstar says:

    lol truth lives up to his name. lopez and love will be huge busts, mark my words. too bad the spurs committed to ryan anderson aka matt bonner junior…

  3. imungloloupaw says:

    dude, robin is the one being compared to varejao/noah.. brook is the more skilled lopez brother..

  4. ERIC says:

    It cant be a straight #4 for #7 swap. Other picks/players involved?

  5. GEE...Forget ya mama, I'm talkin bout you and me toe to toe says:

    Different teams making moves. Time to go see what Houston is going to try to pull off.

    I gotta pray lol.

  6. Joe Cozi says:

    David Lee and the 6th pick to Sac for Ron Ron and the 12th pick..

  7. Prof. TX says:

    The usually pick an overrated big as their annual draft bust. I guess it’s time to get back to that habit after the whole Durant thing, wouldn’t want to have two good picks in a row.

  8. Blue says:

    the good thing about these pick swaps is that none of them involve the heat. even though i know they can’t trade the pick, only the player himself. at least they’re not agreeing to shit in principle!

  9. dh says:

    dang. this is a busy day

  10. Homeless J says:

    if the Sonics draft Lopez instead of Bayless and Bayless ends up being the next Arenas and Lopez ends up averaging around 8 and 5, this is gonna be another in a long line of huge mistakes in taking a big man in the lottery instead of other people drafted later who end up being a lot better.

    just because they lucked out with the second pick last year and it was a no-brainer, people all of a sudden forget the three or four years straight before that. Swift, Saer Sene, Johan Petro…

  11. Truth says:

    @imungloloupaw

    f*CK what them analyst is talkin about. I seen both them sh*tty dudes play for stanford this year, and they BOTH remind me of Noah and Varejo. Stop listening to Jay Bilas dude. Watch them cats yourself and tell me them sh*tty dudes is skilled. If you can tell me some bullsh*t like that, you don’t know basketball at all!

  12. miamiVIS3 says:

    Amen to that Blue.

    Also, to me it makes the most sense for the Clips to go for Bayless if they traded down because they could likley get Eric Gordon at 7

  13. Celts Fan, "Kobe, Tell me how my @$$ tastes" says:

    @Truth and Imu

    Brook Lopez isn’t Varajou or Noah. He’s a legit 7 footer without any athleticism that doesn’t play D or rebound and has one of the lowest release points I’ve ever seen for a big man despite his post “skills” being the big reason he’s getting this hype.

    Robin is an okay defender/rebounder that’s being touted as a Noah or Varajou when he averaged 5 boards per.

    BOTH WILL BE BUMS. THE CLOSEST THEY ARE TO AN NBA ARENA 10 YEARS FROM NOW IS SELLING HANDIES BEHIND STAPLES CENTER FOR $5 A POP.

  14. Big Sneezy says:

    I think Lopez is pretty solid, he actually has a feel for the game. He is less of a “potential” guy like some of those other draft busts and more of a polished guy with a skill set. His style of play reminds me of Tim Duncan. Then again, have any of these Stanford bigs ever turned out to be any good? (Todd Lichti, Adam Keefe, Mark Madsen, Curtis Borchardt, Collins twins, etc)

  15. imungloloupaw says:

    @truth

    hahahaha I HAVE watched them both play for Stanford and Brook got some decent post moves dude. Robin is all about energy. Noah and Varejao ain’t got no shit moves in the post.. Brook’s game is Kaman-like and not based on pure energy alone..

  16. omar says:

    fuck lopez i can’t believe seattle will take yet another center goddam don’t they learn please take bayless………….

  17. Desrat says:

    What is the advantage for the Sonics? Just trying to decrease ticket sales or what? I do not get it, unless there is acomponet that is not being talked aobut yet…

  18. Desrat says:

    This deal is now off according to the same sight. They must have distracted bennet with some KKK TV show. The dude is a devil.
