didn’t a guy in a Blazers jersey crack him first?
June 17th, 2008 at 9:51 am
rangerjohn says:
@for real,
looks liek a purple (away) jersey looks like #24 jersey.
the other thing that bothers me about this, the title od the clip if you actually go to youtube, “celtics suck”
i mean damn, the lakers have the whole crowd on this one guy, and that celtics fan HAS BALLS! to show up at staples with 1 guy while wearing a celtics jersey.

Looks like that Boston fan was unfortunate enough to sit in the Maravilla Gang section of the Staples Center.
Are Boston fans any better though?

That guy in the Celtics jersey showed more passion then Garnett did in the last game.

who knows who said what – still you throw the first punch (or chair) you loose. what, you can’t talk smack without fearing for your life!? – until i see boston fans do the same i’m decided – go celtics.

big freeze,
i would say this, when have the boston fans attacked, physically attacked, a fan from another team. this is not saying A boston fan has never done it but an entire section of fans? never.
this goes right in line with what i said after the lakers eliminated the spurs and then the fans inturned BOOED the spurs as if the spurs eliminated the lakers. NO CLASS!
where is chuck defending the lakers? lmao

Tux says:
That’s fucked Dime. Why glorify that shit? Are things that bad where you can’t pay for a ticket to watch your team in another building without having some fat gutless prick hit you twice? It’s sports, not fucking turf wars. Leave that shit in Inglewood you fat grub.
June 17th, 2008 at 10:30 am
fallinup says:
The guy stands there, takes that abuse, gets provoked until someone actually swings at him (and runs back mind you)…he swings back, and a few around him, and even behind him swing at him with his back turned. And the sad thing is, the guy in the Celtics jersey probably was the one that got thrown out.
If any of you pansies happened to be there and you’re reading this right now, probably still gloating from the “courage” you showed….fuck you…and fuck your team.
You’re a waste of flesh.

I wore a Kobe Jersey to Arco arena one time and it almost ended up like that. Never a good idea to wear an opposing teams jersey unless your in a big group or sitting court side (Matt Damon)…

FluffyG says:
This is why i freaking hate Lakers fans. They’re always talking shit about other teams and they always think their team is best even though they lost like they’re going to do today. And that guy got BALLS!
June 17th, 2008 at 10:59 am
sans says:
That guy should of pulled off the gorilla-ballz dance on his way out the door. If those fans would have really turned on him, I got five saying he takes down three dudes with him on principle.
June 17th, 2008 at 10:59 am
for real says:
It’s obvious the game was over. All the “fans” drifted down from the top of rafters, probably to get some face time on ABC – then that Celtic fan went left out of the restroom when he should have gone right. I’m sure there was no alcohol involved. Big dude – took the shots and chairs. Man, if that guy would have thrown one punch back, at anyone, he would have been stomped to death quick.

Also out of all my friends Im the only knicks fan (since most of them are from FL) and we go at it all the time and i mean seriously go at it but no ever took it personal to want to fight.. fk them dudes aint puttign no bread in my pockets
June 17th, 2008 at 11:21 am
rangerjohn says:
@sans LMAO now that would have litterally brought the house down.
@fiyaman
it is the guys who wear another teams jersey to a game that the team he is wearing is not even playing at that makes me laugh my ass off. i mean damn man just because it is a sport doesnt mean you wear what ever jersey you got to the game lmao go buy one for the home team or the visitor but damn drop the team that is not even playing. lmao thats funny shit
June 17th, 2008 at 11:27 am
doc says:
I like it.Stay the fuck out of the arena with the other team jersey on.A boston lover getting his ass kicked makes it even better. In Philly we would’ve got the camera turned off and really laid into his punk ass.

Austin Burton says:
For what it’s worth, I did hear from some people who were at Games 1 and 2 in Boston that some people wearing Lakers jerseys weren’t treated very nicely. I don’t know if it actually got physical, but I was told it got very close.

You guys seemed so shocked that this incident happened last night. These type of provoking incidents which result in fights happen ALL THE TIME. In the age of the Internet, stuff like this is easy to publish and make known to others. It just so happens somebody caught it on video.
I’m not condoning this behavior, but anytime someone rolls up in an opposing team’s jersey (especially if it’s a rival and especially if it’s in the Finals), you are looking for trouble.

its easy to want to start a fight when u have 100+ people backing you up and that goes for any team. i’ve worn kg jerseys to warriors games but in my opinion why get in a fight for your team when like some of the other readers said dont put any money in your pocket. the players arent gonna get in a fight for you so why bother, its a game have fun talkin trash, your an idiot if u get into a fight over that crap.
June 17th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Celts Fan says:
@for real, rangerjohn, and AB
Visiting fans get treated like you’d expect in Boston. You’re definitely gonna get your fair share of verbal abuse (my favorite was the “needle d*ck” chant in the bathroom as a Laker fan was peeing in game 2) or the “you’re a p*ssy” chants that’ve been rained down on other fans w/ visiting teams’ stuff on, but we try to keep it from getting physical (cuz you can’t get beer in jail.) now Bruins fans, they’ll beat your @$$ if you show up in another uni (some poor Montreal fan got DECIMATED outside a Bruins game a few months ago from what the Globe reported,) but Celtics fans are just happy to yell completely unnecessary and obscene stuff at you, but to not cross the line and get kicked out (trust me, most of them don’t care about getting arrested, just missing the rest of the game!)
June 17th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
fallinup says:
You should expect to razzed if you have on the opposing teams’ jersey. It’s human nature. What got me most about that video were the punks huddled around the guy, even behind him…waiting for him to fight back so they could get their cheap shots in. That was plain disgusting. I know it happens and all, but damn…get a spine.
June 17th, 2008 at 12:57 pm

@ jeffrey
that guys name is RON ARTEST and the lakers fans are just lucky he didnt rush them and beat the crap out of EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM!

jamesinva says:
i hope the fans that did that to the celtic fans get some punishment. that is some BS. how old are they 13? i think seeing opposing jerseys at a game is a great thing IMO. let them support their team. i mean who knowsd mayce the cceltic guy initiated it but still doing some detroit vs indiana wannabe shiet throwing chairs and etc is ridiculous. a laker fan and 100s of his friends doing that just looks pathetic. just shows the fans are idiots and have admitted the series is over. low life punks

well, i think it’s dumb thing to do to go to other arena alone in your teams jersey. but situation is different in europe where i live. first, if someone showed like that, he couldn’t enter at all, someone would kick his a.. before. second, here fans usually travels to road games in groups and they are separated by police. so for me to see fight between fans is normal. but as person, i think those lakers fans sucks (and i’m laker fan). 10 (or more) against one, that sucks and it’s shameful.
June 17th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
Diego says:
Got to concur with rangerjohn in second part of post 21! WTF are those folks thinking!
In Atlanta what pisses me off is when I overhear opposing fans sitting near me (and sometimes in Atlanta there are a lot of them!) start bad-mouthing my guys in our home arena. That’s when I start my running color commentary to no one in particular about how overrated sucn and such visiting player is! (Had a blast in this regard at the Boston losses in ATL in this year’s playoffs!)

My brother (Mavs fan) came with me to a Spurs game and he (not a prick, mind you) was treated well by everyone. This was in a 3x OT loss. I guess that’s why they say we have bad fans in SA.

BxBaller says:
I feel bad for the Celtics fan but he should’ve known better. The million question is where the hell was security? Dude had to run down to them.
June 18th, 2008 at 8:21 am
rangerjohn says:
lmao security? i dont know about over there, but here at the toyota center, the security consists of some over weight midle aged guys who wanted to get free games, or short middle age women who are either maried to the other guy or are looking to hook up with said middle age men.
there is no way these people are stopping anyone from getting on the court or fighting,. the toyota center has about 10 cops around and 5 of them are there to escourt the refs to and from the locker room. there is no way the security is getting in the middle of this because they know they could just as easily end up statistics a quick as mr celtic in the video

I would not want to bet on that. You are more than welcome to try. It would be a shame to watch the middle age guy make you eat the floor.
