Crown ‘emWhy the Celtics won: Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo played aggressively all night. Throughout the series both KG and Rondo have either been passive at the same time or took turns being passive, especially on the offensive end. Tonight Rondo overcame a bad start shooting the ball by getting after it defensively and pushing the pace from the point guard spot. Garnett was a monster in the first half, not settling for jumpers and going to the rack hard. And after they helped build a huge lead at halftime, Ray Allen came in during the second and shot away any hopes of an L.A. comeback.
Why the Lakers lost: After Kobe Bryant’s initial hot streak, their offense went into the tank. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom were total non-factors, and once Kobe’s jumper stopped falling and the Celtics continued cutting off his drives, L.A. had nothing. Once they got down 20 in the first half, then couldn’t make an immediate dent to start the second half, everyone (including Kobe) visibly gave up, halfway playing offense and not playing any defense whatsoever.
Key numbers: Kobe Bryant (22 pts); Rajon Rondo (21 pts, 8 asts, 6 stls); Ray Allen (26 pts, 7 threes); Kevin Garnett (26 pts, 14 rebs, 3 stls); Paul Pierce (17 pts, 10 asts); Turnovers (LAL 19, BOS 7); 2008 NBA Championships (BOS 1, LAL 0).

Game 6 was the scariest movie I’ve ever seen. It was a massacre. Someone tell me, did Stephen King direct that?
Not that they care but Boston acted out of character towards the end. Dumping gatorade on the floor. They could have called off the dogs but LA played with no heart so they deserved it.
KG was ridiculous in the interview with Michelle but he is CERTIFIED..

KG shut up the haters. He was feeling it from the opening buzzer. Well done, Big Ticket. A monster game is what he needed, and a monster game is what he brought….How about that swat and shove that send Odom to the floor??!! Haha! Why couldn’t he have had that fire all series?? LOL
Boston put on a show…Lakers gave up by the middle of the 3rd. PP, well deserved MVP. A lot of vets on that team that deserved those rings…
Nothing else you can say now…sweet 17.

I hope bynum is ready to step in and be a legit #2. Gasol and Odom can share the three spot. Bottom line Lakers had a better year than expected and essentially add the #1 draft pick in Bynum. Of all the players in the draft Bynum @ this point would be #1 and he’s a Laker. Dertroit lost to Boson, Mike lost to Detroit etc. It’s about to be a dynasty in LA call Hova and let him know we are taking the name. Kobe will get more titles than Mike, but after this Finals Mike will always hold the #1 spot(and I’m a huge kobe fan. Respect paid where respects due.

I believe the Celtics can win a second title with this team, but the Lakers have the better upside. Kobe will be back to the Finals, and soon too!

Really? You’re gonna get beat by FORTY fucking points in an elimination game??
I’m pissed as hell, but it was nice seeing Garnett’s reaction to winning. You can’t help but be happy for someone when he appreciates it so much. Same for Pierce, Allen, etc.
Still, they got their one ring. Fuck ‘em for the rest of their careers. The better team won, but we’ll be back next year. You can count on that shit.

Phil Jackson said in his press conference that they need more players with offensive and defensive intensity. The Lakers need to get rid of Walton, Sasha, and Vlad asap.

Congrats to all Boston fans. I am so happy for KG and P Dub.. After the New England fiasco in football i am happy for Boston cause that football loss was heartbreakin for them.
Really proud of KG. not only did he show up but i cant recall a post game interview where a player actually addressed the haters. a lovely thing. i am glad he did it.
Somewhere i think Shaq is happy he still is one ring up on Kobe and Kobe hasnt gotten one without him.
Used to be you could have 1 star then 2 to win and now 3. Guess all teams will try to get big threes now.
i am happy but i am really hating for basketball to end. cant wait till next year. congrats again boston fans. well played.

and they (Boston) have a great chance to repeat when you think on it. unless a trade goes down to equal that of having a big three, they really might get it again.
So wait Atl gave Boston their hardest test lol Dang lol.
