The Celtics are 9.5-point… UNDERDOGS?

USA Today has the Celtics at 9.5-point underdogs going into tonight’s game. Bodog.com has it at 9 points. That’s a whole lot of points for a Celtics squad that is up two games to none in the NBA Finals. That being said, I’m not sure I’d bet on this game. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly would not take the Lakers and I definitely think the C’s are extremely tempting, but the Lakers not only need to win this game, they need to make a statement. It’s tempting, though. Very, very, very tempting.

Would you bet it?

bookmakers want everyone to pound the celtics with the +9.5 points, i would actually fade the public in this case and go with the unconventional bet of lakers -9.5. lake show will blow out the celtics tonight imo, as hard as that may sound.

This is 100% a reflection of people’s lack of confidence in NBA officiating. David Stern can’t tell me there’s no home court bias.

I think the Celtics probably lose this game, but it’s going to be close. They lose by 5 or 6.

  4. OdomisnotOden says:

I agree with Nerdity. The Lakers are going to get more calls tonight just based on being home and phil’s reaction to game one. don’t be surprised by a double digit win.

Take the Lakers. Vegas is usually correct on these things. If most people like the Celtics- go the other way!

    Im taking the Lakers.

why not take the money line? hard to say if the celtics get blown out or keep it close, could go either way. but you can’t say they dont have a chance to win. and at 4-1 which is where it was this afternoon its hard not to put just a little on them…

I got a bill fifty on boston at 9 points. I wouldn’t bet against LA winning this game, but I sure as hell bet against them winning by 9. Pierce and KG can smell that sweet, sweet chip and they played like it in both games thus far. The lakers will win a couple games in LA. However, like the Dime post said yesterday, the Lakers as FLACID. They will not beat Boston by double digits tonight…hopefully.

    Dime fam,
You hera about the new ref accusations stating about previous series fixes? Stern his having a fit and saying he’s just trying to take people down with him. The fix is on… the fix is on

  10. puckpuck says:

Did Stern put out a gag order on the new Donaghy story?? Sportscenter gave more coverage to Larry Brown picking his nose or something. Most of the major NBA sites I visit have nothing on it.

ATTENTION DIMEMAG AND OTHER MEDIA — this is potentially one of the biggest stories in NBA history. It could lead to Stern resigning or a multitude of other things…
