Bill Walker Can’t Catch a Break

As O.J. Mayo’s teammate for much of his high school and AAU career, Bill Walker was forever relegated to “Robin” status. After several injuries before ever getting to college, Walker blew out his knee just a few games into his first season at Kansas State under Bob Huggins. Then Huggins left and just as Walker got better, Michael Beasley arrived at K-State to once again drop Walker to sidekick status.

And then this happened this weekend:

Representatives for Kansas State redshirt freshman Bill Walker were scrambling to secure a commitment from a team drafting late in the first round after Walker injured his right knee during a workout in California this weekend.

Multiple sources close to Walker, and at least one who attended the workout in the Bay Area, said Sunday night that Walker would undergo another MRI on his knee Monday. Walker was one of 24 players at the Golden State Warriors’ facility to work out in front of representatives from 21 NBA teams. The players in attendance were projected as being between the 20th and 45th picks.

Walker has until 5 p.m. ET today to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft.

That sucks. Walker has legitimate game too… But if Tony Allen can get Finals tick, surely he can get an opportunity.

Well, at least Bill Walker still has a career in the Fast and the furious movies. He did a good job there and I here they are making a new one.(let’s see who catches that one)- LOL

I heard he has a guarantee from Detroit in the first round. Last year Detroit made good on a promise to Stuckey (who was not projected as a first rounder) so I would not be surprised if that is true.

Apparently Walker was awesome and in the physical in workouts so the guarantee could stick.

Walker is smart and is a hard worker so I could see Dumars taking him.
