D-Wade to Chicago Trade Rumors
Could you see the Bulls and Heat making some kind of blockbuster deal involving star players and the top two draft picks in order to shake up their franchises in an effort to start fresh? Crazier things have happened.
One of the rumors that has popped up has Dwyane Wade going home to Chicago. Wade had this to say in the papers today:
“I have heard my name being talked about, and I can’t worry about it,” Wade said Monday. “There is one thing in this league that you have no control over. If another organization wants you, then you should feel good to be wanted.”
You have to think that of all the scenarios that could happen, Dwyane wouldn’t really mind being dealt to the Bulls. He’d be going home to the team he grew up watching (obviously, he idolized MJ), to a team with a solid young nucleus of talent (where he’d immediately be the leader), with a new coach who has had experience coaching Mike. Worse things could happen.

That would be the dumbest move, trading DWade for who? To get the top pick? What are ya’ll smokin’…

i was reading something rediculous like wade and the 2nd pick for the 1st pick. LMAO that is almost as stupid as trading pau gasol for kwame brown, it will never happen. OPPS never mind

yallallreadyknow says:
first off, don’t none of us believe this bullshit. but let me say this:
miami is dumb as all hell if they are even considering this. chicago wins big if they can pull this off. but to do so…they’d have to send luol deng or ben gordon AND either drew gooden or larry hughes.
and miami aint gonna take that bs package.
June 3rd, 2008 at 5:52 pm
yallallreadyknow says:
btw…
dwyane wade is still the best player in the league (no disrespect to kobe). hmm….ok, d wade is 2nd best in the league.
and he should have been mvp. if it wasnt for him…miami would have gone 0-82.

Marcus says:
Riley must not think he will be able to keep Wade in a few seasons when he becomes a FA if this is true. It could be a good way to just start rebuilding now if they get enough out of the deal while sending Wade to a place he would like playing. Will also give Riley a few years off of coaching while the team isnt good and develops.

AY says:
dwade is a cross between penny hardaway and stevie francis, he’s not getting better. If riles really believes in drose and does this, then he has the world’s biggest stones. Last time someone traded their franchise player for a pick it was the bulls getting chandler for elton brand, and they had the chandler/curry combo, and we all know how that worked out.
#1, deng, noah, duhon for dwade. It’ll look good for miami on paper but there’s no hierarchy when you get two top picks so it’ll implode; get it done.

Three Stacks says:
Man, I can’t believe people have lost faith in Dwyane already. He was a legit MVP candidate as little as two seasons ago. Last year had to be an aberration, chalk it up to injuries and the like. But dude is still young, even with his reckless style he should still be in his prime. If he’s healthy, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t go back to the 27, 6, 7 he put up a couple years ago. Better than Kobe’s numbers this yr, from a strictly statistical view.
Who would trade that player? Miami is gonna be GOOD next yr, I’m serious. Regardless of who they get in the draft, they’re gonna be good. Remember when SA had that one really bad yr when Robinson got injured, then they lucked out and landed Tim Duncan? That’s whats happening to Miami. Not saying Rose or Beasley’s gonna develop to TD’s level, just saying the one yr was a fluke.

Ashlov says:
Riley would have to be doing bumps off Craig Ehlo’s ass to be high enough to make that trade. Please.
I’m not saying a starting lineup of Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo, Luol Deng, Shawn Marion, and Joakim Noah sucks, because it doesn’t, but I sincerely doubt that Riley is going to trade away his franchise player.

DaPro says:
Dwade is still sick and a 10 ten player hands down
This helps Chi-town big time if they can lock in on Wade and still draft Beasley
I was pushing for them to get Rose but thats an after thought if they can get Dwayne Wade especially without giving up their point guard in Henrich or Deng
Heinrich
DWade
Deng
Gooden
Noah
with Sef, Gray, and Thomas off the bench. It’s not bad at all

Big Freeze says:
Why would Miami be shopping Wade unless they know something is up with his health problems? Maybe his shoulder and knee are fucked for good. He could be the new Grant Hill or Penny Hardaway. They tore the league up for a minute, but injuries ruined what could of been. Hopefully that’s not the case with Flash, cuz he was one of the most exciting players ever in his prime.
June 3rd, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Celts Fan says:
agreed Big Freeze. Even though Riley looks like the typical crazy guy jerking off in an alley, he’s a smart guy. There is NO CHANCE IN HELL Riley’s trading DWade unless either his shoulder or knee is completely screwed (COMPLETELY SCREWED)long-term or they already KNOW he’s gone for Chicago in 2 years (beyond LeBron/Jay-Z levels, well beyond.)
Otherwise, Riley’s just going fishing for the best offer. They obviously don’t like Beasley as much as OJ Mayo, so Riley’s spreading rumors to drum up the best offer he can get (and with DWade “available,” they’re gonna get guys included in offers that just the #2 pick wouldn’t, then you let the Greaseball go to work and eventually he may be able to get someone to include a player they weren’t initially going to include.) Eventually, they don’t trade Wade and either get a solid deal to move down a slot or 2 to grab OJ Mayo and pick up another player or they just eventually draft Beasley anyway.
REMEMBER, THIS RUMOR WAS STARTED BY SOMEONE IN A CHICAGO PAPER
June 3rd, 2008 at 10:28 pm
Ashlov says:
Wake up, Bulls fans. This isn’t the Grizzlies or T-Wolves. They’re not going to give Wade away. If Riley were insane enough to trade away Wade at this point (which he isn’t), he would trade Wade for your #1, Luol Deng, Gordon, and God knows what else.
If any of you think you would get Wade AND the #2 pick, you’re out of your minds. Wake the fuck up. Wade isn’t going anywhere, so go whack your little puds to some other ridiculous idea.
June 3rd, 2008 at 10:33 pm
word says:
this would be sick, definitely do it up, but wade’s injury status is a concern, would that mean that chicago sends over their pick so miami has beasely and rose? wtf that would be nuts, you can’t give them beasely and rose that ain’t fair.. so in that case hell no take beasely over wade any day son, although i know chicago needs some vets they got all rookies.

Ding Dong We Got The 6th Pick says:
The more dreamers there are out there in Chicago, the better the Heat are going to be next season. Riley is about as willing to let Wade go as Barkley is cutting out Krispy Kremes

Illmatic says:
I just don’t really see how they can get equal value for DWade. When he’s healthy, I’d put him in the Top 3 or 4 players in the league. How quickly we all forget a couple years ago when he almost single-handedly beat the Mavs in the Finals.
June 4th, 2008 at 8:42 am
djKianoosh says:
oh you mean when the refs gave him every call and phantom call imaginable when he dominated the mavs… riiiiiight.
LOL.. btw I’m not a mavs fan or heat hater, i just call it like i see it, and that was some foul reffing that finals.
June 4th, 2008 at 8:48 am
Celts Fan says:
Illmatic – DWade + 3 refs doesn’t equal single handedly. He won that series for them and was AMAZING, but let’s not make it like the refs didn’t help him A LOT with foul calls that a guy like, I don’t know… Brent Barry! wouldn’t get (I like the no call, just needs to be called the same way across the board, cuz if it was Kobe that got bumped like that, the whistle IS gonna blow.) I’d put him top 10-15 in the League, but definitely not top 5 (Kobe, Duncan, CP3, LeBron, KG – in no order) and that’s still leaving off guys like Dwight and Deron who you’d have to put over him. I’d also take Brandon Roy over him (better shooter, better defender, almost as athletic, taller, lead an extremely young Blazers team to a 500 record – give or take, didn’t check but I know it was very close – in the West while DWade’s Heat have underachieved/been just plain bad in the DREADFUL Eastern Conference over the past 2 years. Comparibly, Kobe got a just as terrible supporting cast to the Playoffs year after year in the West before Memphis lost their damn minds.) Again, it’s that one of the best 1 on 1 players in the world got to play mainly 1 on 1 thanks to Shaq being there too. Not taking too much away from the man, he’s still a top 10-15 player, but let’s see what he can do without the Big Fella before we slide him into the top 5.
I tend to devalue small 2 guards that don’t play great D or shoot the 3 ball well a little bit, and I’d still put DWade there (and I’m sure that’s lower than just about everyone else and it’s still top 10-15)
In the end, I still say keep Wade regardless.
We’re also ignoring the MOUNTAINS of $$$ that Wade generates for the Heat and their owners from his likeness, Playoff $$$, and jersey sales. That’s not happening unless 1 of the 2 things we’ve all speculated on (permanently injured or bolting for Chicago) are a SURE THING.

“with a new coach who has had experience coaching Mike.”??? doug collins didn’t coach mike. mike coached the wizards. lets face it. collins only did what mike wanted to do.

Whoever thinks this is possible or that miami would ever do this trade needs to go watch nascar and stop watching basketball. Why would Miami trade the best player they have for someone who never played an Nba game in his life. Second of all, whoever said Wade is not good anymore F$#@ You dude. Wade is is An NBA champion and Finals MVP. And hes only 27. When someone gets injured they cant do what they used to until they fully recover. I bet if you had that injury you would cry like a little bitch. Yea im talkin to you AY. Amare got injured badly and missed the whole season and came back a beast, Wade will do the same. The bottom line is that The miami heat will not trade wade, They will draft Rose and go back to sweeping the hell out of the Bulls
