    Ahhhh…the dagger. LOL

  2. doc says:

    Good layup, not all that.

  3. djKianoosh says:

LMAO… but shouldn’t it be.. “hold these”?!? LOL

watching it again reminded me how horrible mark jackson is. uggghhh.. “momma there goes that man” ? what?

but that’s going to be the signature play of the series right? like Dr J’s sweeping cradling dunk, like jordan’s switch hands in mid-air layup against the lakers. like jordan’s push off bryon russel for the last shot…

  4. fallinup says:

If you listen closely, after the shot was made, you could hear the Lakers’ spirit and season hissing away like a deflating balloon, at the end of the half. The rest of the game was a victory march.

  5. rangerjohn says:

i am sorry but can we PAAAALEASE get off GARNETTS NUTSACK!
he didnt do anything special, if he had he would have been the mvp, where is all the pierce hype and talk?

garnett faded in the 4th of every game damn near his entire career and now all of a sudden he is every damn thread, really?

  6. Big Freeze says:

Aw, rangerjohn is just mad because the Spurs are irrelevant right now and Tim Duncun is almost as exciting as watching the Lawrence Welk show.

That was one of the sickest layups ever. Of course haters can’t appreciate that.

  7. rangerjohn says:

not taking a shot at the shot (like 20 other players in the league didnt make better shots in a more clutch situation)

got nothing to do with the spurs freeze, it is all about garnett apparenetly even though he still would be looking for a title if it was not for pierce (and mchale). more credit needs to be given to pierce and less to garnett! that is the point i mean damn i didnt even say anything about duncan or the spurs just giving credit where credit is due, TO PAUL PIERCE NOT KEVIN GARNETT!

  8. doc says:

Big Freeze cut that out. That is not one of the sickest layups ever.

  9. fallinup says:

The shot itself…was slop. I laughed like hell when it went in. LOL

The effect though, was monumental. After that, it seemed like everything was going in for Boston.

  10. Austin Burton says:

@Big Freeze — Can you explain to me what is more exciting about KG’s style of play than Duncan’s? Serious question.

  11. Suciniac says:

    @ranger
I would’ve thought being a Spurs fan you would understand the impact of KG on the Celtics more than the casual fan.I mean Parker got Finals MVP last year but you know it’s Duncan’s team.Same here Pierce takes the trophy and hits the big shots but KG is the soul of the Celtics.Oh and needless to say Duncan would be also looking for his first ring if it weren’t for Robinson,Elliot,Avery,Horry,Manu,Bowen,Parker and Pop to name a few.

  12. Sam I Am says:

I know if I can jump in… I would say for

    1. KG doesn’t whine. PERIOD
    2. KG brings much much much more intensity and passion to his game, even though both players have “faded” away at time and also stepped up at critical times
    3. KG has always had to do it himself, T.D. def has the Admiral and T.P. and Manu

So that’s just my 2 cents

  13. Austin Burton says:

So is Duncan carrying Parker/Manu/Bowen, or are those guys good on their own? Spurs-haters argue both sides for whatever is convenient at the moment. Either you admit Parker/Manu/Bowen are great, or say they’re not that good and admit Duncan is carrying them. But I hear people saying “Duncan has all this help,” and “Manu sucks!” all in the same paragraph.

  14. rangerjohn says:

wow sam i am you really dont know the spurs or duncan AT ALL. while i will give you kg doenst whine AS MUCH as duncan, ALL NBA PLAYERS WHINE, goes with the pay check.
and i would never say kg BRINGS more intensity, and passion to the game then duncan, i would say kg wears his on his sleave while duncan keeps it inside but there is not way kg BRINGS MORE.
and as for kg “doing it himself” last i checked he had allen and pierce to carry him as well as him carrying them.
robinson was a shell of himself in 2003 and parker and manu where kids in nba season terms in 2003 and 05, parker really stepped up in 2007 i give you that but i point out ray alen paul pierce.

the thing that makes kg better then duncan to most people, he is a showman, he wears his heart on his sleave and duncan is stoic and a ninja, quiet but deadly, you dont even realize he is killing you 99% of the time.

how many people honestly can say they remember the numbers duncan put up in the last game of the 2003 finals?

21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists, and 8 blocks only 2 fouls and 4 turn overs, all this while coming back for 10 down to go on a 19-0 run to seal the deal and the team only scored 88 points!

but then where is that in relation to the almighty KG?
tim duncan has not got as many triple doubles as kg but almost all of the ones he does have are just shy of quad doubles.

he does not fade in big games, and he rarely defers in big games.

  15. Sam I Am says:

LOL RangerJohn… so you’re arguing with me, but agreeing on almost everything I pointed out…

The question asked was “what is more exciting?”
and I gave you my points…

and Austin I said he’s had to carry it so he’s had that “monkey/spotlight” on his back therefore whatever he’s done has been hyped x 5 fold. (See recent articles posted)

The thing is Duncan hasn’t had to carry the Spurs b/c they have good (All Star) players and always did.

KG even in Minny, was the show until he had Sprewell and Cassell, and even then it was an excitement for him to make it….Trust when I say you had much more KG supporters for his ring than Tim Duncan

  16. rangerjohn says:

sam i am you need readin comprehension classes? not a lot of agreement in my post.

and i am amazed that everyone keeps giving manu and parker so much credit, they made an allstar game 1 tiem each, and they keep getting refered to like they are there year in and year out.

and as for your last line “more kg supporters then duncan” this is completely true by default, duncan was only in his 2nd yr when he got his 1st, and in a smaller market. it took kg 13 seasons to get his so you tend to gain support over the years. duncan has gotten 4 in 11 seasons (and IMO it should have been at least 2 more) there has been little time for people to “support” duncan to get his ring.

  17. Austin Burton says:

@Sam — I didn’t know those were your three reasons for why KG is more exciting than Duncan.

    1. How does whining or not whining doesn’t have anything to do excitement? So you’re saying because Kobe, A.I., Nash and LeBron whine about calls, that means they’re NOT exciting?

    2. KG is just visibly more intense than Duncan. And just because he’s more outward with his emotion, it doesn’t mean he’s any more passionate than Duncan. But aside from that, is your argument that KG is more exciting because he screams after dunks and talks to himself on the bench?

    3. What does KG having to carry the Wolves have to do with being exciting? Elton Brand carries the Clippers, but I’ve never heard anyone say he’s exciting.

When it comes down to style of play, what does KG rely on? Jump shots, post moves (in the regular season) and playing great defense. He doesn’t dunk any more often than Duncan and just because he screams afterwards, is that’s all that’s exciting?

  18. Sam I Am says:

lol truth be told I love KG’s game and am a Wolves fan b/c of him. With that out the way (bc you know I am bias)

I believe that whining only takes away from the game. It creates an image of someone who can’t always have it their way, they need to cry more than others b/c it helps their team. When in fact it creates more technicals, more distractions, refs respecting a player less b/c their style is simply he doesn’t respect my call or judgement.

With Duncan’s non chalante attitude, it creates an image of someone who is bored. Someone who’s just playing and WE as an entertainment mecca loving society love to root for the hype, the next flashy thing. With Duncan being so “boring” in his play, that’s why Stern would want a KG and KOBE in a finals and not something that drags ratings (i.e) last year’s finals

Elton hasn’t been in the postseason every year like KG willed his team when in Minny

lol and if you beat me up again, lol then i give homie i give

  19. josh says:

Its personality, end of story. KG has personality and shows it. TD doesn’t.

Example; im from Australia and over here we love Australian Rules football, as do i, but one of the reasons i love the NBA is cos the players can and do show personality ie KG, Gil, even deshawn. these dudes are not robots…Back to AFL, one thing that annoys me about AFL is that no players or coaches ever show their personality ie they dont talk smack about other players or teams or show off very much (a huge bearing on this maybe that in the game of AFL it is very easy to annhilate or be annhilated by an oppostion player….so talking smack it would probably increase that happening)

So my point is AFL is the most exciting game on earth but the NBA is the most entertaining.

  20. Suciniac says:

    @post 13
Or either you conclude Duncan is THE MAN in SA and Manu,Parker,Bowen etc although good on their own right are the sidekicks which is the plain as day truth.
