Meanwhile, the team they were facing in the Finals had just knocked off the defending champion Spurs in 5 games, beaten a very tough Jazz team in 6, and destroyed the Nuggets in 4. At the time the Finals started, you couldn't have told me the Celtics were playing better basketball than the Lakers. What happened was that Boston finally got it going when it mattered most. And he made so much about 66 wins, keep in mind they got to play teams like New York, Miami, Milwaukee, and the rest of the Eastern Conference's weaker ones 3-4 times instead of two times. It is sad that all those "experts" weren't able to understand what was going on, because teams have always defeated one man bands, and defenses have always defeated offenses.
