Don’t forget that Wade, Bron and Bosh signed those short 3 year extensions and there was always rumors of Wade bouncin back home to the Chi if the heat left him wit a team like Cleveland. If Riley got some info, he can do a deal for Wade before they lose him for nuthin…but Wade and the #2 for the #1 is ridiculous

Pat Riley is smart. Greasy, ya. Slimy and willing to fire the coach the second he thinks HE could win a ring? Absolutely. The type of guy you’d love running your business but chase out of your house if he was ever dating your daughter/sister/mom/friend/acquaintance/anyone you’d ever heard of? Definitely. The man is smart though. They’re obviously not big on Beasley, so they’re trying to stir up enough of a thought that they would actually pass on him to get other teams into a bidding war so they can move down and still pick up something solid (or see what he could get and eventually take Beasley anyway.) What other reason could there honestly be? (Other than DWade’s health being worse than we all know.)

DWade is the face of the franchise now, there’s no way they can get rid of him. If they’re truly looking to rebuild, which is what they should do, they should definitely pick up the best PG on the board (Derrick Rose). They also need to find a young, proven big man off the free agent market. Throw in DWade at the 2, Haslem and the Matrix in the frontcourt, and suddenly the Heat are playoff contenders again in the anemic East.

Honestly, unless DWade had a leg amputated, they should keep him and draft whoever’s left at #2 (or, if they honestly don’t like Beasley – dumb, but Riley knows more than I do I guess… – trade down a slot w/ the TWolves, pick up another guy, maybe Corey Brewer? and draft OJ Mayo there) Regardless, they should keep Wade…

You could be right about his injury, but Wade injury would have to be like Penny or Grant Hill before I trade him for the #1. The only thing that seems kind of crazy is Riles trying to go after a 29yo Elton Brand when he is coming off major surgery.

I guess trading Wade is the gamble Riles is willing to take to get Rose. If they do trade Wade, Riles better be right because I will not want to see a healthy Wade on Chicago with Deng and Beasley.

Wade hasn’t played a full season in his career. If they trade wade, I’m telling you, the medical staff knows something about this guy that we don’t. That has to be it. Riley has 5 rings. Dude knows ball and he knows players, I doubt he would ship off Wade unless he knew, long term that Wade wasn’t gonna work out, and if Riley was smart, he would make them take Mark blount’s bloated contract along with a deal like that. In return Gordon , the #1 pick and drew gooden(for the expiring contract), If you are going to give up your best player, at least get rid of the players you don’t want, and buy some cap space!
