This is a great pickup for Golden State. All Marcus Williams needs is consistent playing time, and he will be able to show what he can do. I think it helps Ellis too, because it allows him to stay at off-guard, where he is more effective. Williams knows how to set the table, get people easier shots, and score when he has to. Golden State won this trade, easily.

A first rounder and maybe two second rounders for Marcus Williams
and Marcus Camby could only get maybe a 2nd round exchange?
Where’s all the cryin about the Clips stealin Camby like there was when my Lakers stole Gasol? At least we gave up prospects….not includin Kwame

i would take williams over telfair for his shooting and has more size. however telfair in this system could thrive very well.

@Wanabballer, technically that’s true, but Phx only “drafted” Rondo for Boston. The trade had already been worked out, just can’t be official til after the draft for some reason. The same way that Toronto technically drafted Roy Hibbert even though the pick had already been included in the JO deal.

I’m with J-Dot. I thought Williams thrived best in the fast paced system at UCONN and would do well on a run and gun NBA team. I thought the Suns should’ve drafted him (or Rondo) in the 06′ draft. Williams would have been better suited studying under Nash for a few seasons. Now the question is whether or not Nellie will trust him enough to play him. But nevertheless I like the trade for Golden State.

there’s only one player I know of who plays better with inconsistent minutes, and not everyone can be robert horry/will smith. Lets see if nellie will play him at all.
