The Orlando Magic have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Warriors’ free agent Mikael Pietrus for a deal believed to be close to be worth about $5 million. It’s a move that has serious impact on other players.
It means that whatever interest they had in Corey Maggette is now a wrap. Ita lso means that most likely other Magic free agents like Keyon Dooling and Mo Evans will be looking for work elsewhere … which might not be bad things for the Magic.
Pietrus should be a good fit with Orlando. The guy is an athlete and a solid defender who, after being benched for much of last season in Golden State, is looking to prove himself. Good signing by Orlando.

Huh? A real PF? Turkoglu and Rashard are both 6′10 and can play inside and out. Hedo averaged 17/5 asst/8 reb in the playoffs.
I like the signing. Pietrus never got a fair shake in GS but he has all the tools to be a better than average starting SG.
I agree that they need a replacement for Jameer. The guy gets owned everytime he plays a bigger PG.

Cuz outside of dwight they have no REAL size/muscle since battie is trash, foyle is trash, that other 7′ white guy blows, james augustine doesnt play and brian cook is brian cook. I still say they shoulda signed gerald green for a temporary shooting guard spot while courtny lee gets used to it and then sign a decent free agent forward but pleaseeeee no kwame

actually a good signing balances out the finesse of hedo/rashard with some toughness/athleticism with howard/pietrus (french jordan he he).
So they have shooters and athleticism, point guard well…………………………..
