The dunk was great, can’t argue about that but things like this will happen during international games when most foreign players go for the charge. If that was Ronny Turiaf waiting for Carmelo instead of Scola however, this would’ve been a highlight rejection. Turiaf had Carmelo’s number last year. He must’ve had 5-6 blocks on Melo last year.

Which leads me to say that Turiaf wasn’t alone. Carmelo went for these thundering jams last year and oftentimes, was on the receiving end of a highlight block. My thing about him is that he needs to lose some weight. He’s packed on too much muscle since his rookie year. He used to be so much more rangier and lankier and explosive off his feet. As is, he was capable of being pretty well contained by the likes of Radmanovic and Luke Walton in the postseason.

Carmelo is playing at the same weight as Lebron is but Carmelo isn’t Lebron, he’s not the freakish mutant athlete that Lebron is. No one is, no one but Lebron could play at 6′7 250 with all his natural athleticism in tact.

Ain’t no perfect man, mos def.
and damn, if he proves me wrong, I’m the first ti admint.
but i haven’t seen anything from melo, that convinced me yet. youre right he is young and it can change(paul pierce).
but my thing is, he is not reachin his potential in my opinion. yeah top 3 scorer last cupple year and probably for the next 10.
but man with that body and skilllevel? he could be a lockdown defender if wants, which he didn’t show yet, comüpared to for example bron. an he could mos def avarage 8 boards per game at leat, if he was willing to do some dirty work. thats what makes you great and winner.
MJ didn’t just score. he was a bonefied defender and rbounder for his position. same goes for kobe bron.
but hey lets see what the sommer does. when he plays his role(probably topscorer) and team usa brings home the gold he is on the best way provin that he is the real deal. until now i see him as the second comin of big dog robinson

CARMELO is a BEAST why the hate? Because he got a DUI? Or because he was in a dumbass video with his homeboy’s? Carmelo is CLUTCH, he has the most complete offensive game the league has seen since, Mike retired. He picked it up big time on the glass in the second half of last season as his rebounds per game jumped to nearly 8, which gives him an added demention to his game when he is not scoring. Defensively I can’t defend that BOY. He has to get better!!

@Marian U dont know what them dudes do.Melo never failed no test thats all that matters.Won a college chip,Denver stunk now never have a losing record.The average player is in his 2nd year compared to Melo age.He young and made some wrong decisions but show me a perfect man and Ill give you some paper.

thing is he dosn’t have that I will do what ever it takes attitude, the greats an therefor winners have. and thats not just in games but in the summer. dudes like wade bryant jordan duncan etc do not run around smokin weed oder drivin drunk coz they are dedicated to basketball and basketball only.
kobe had that little hotelgorl disaster;) but I guess you get my point;)

Melo just plays harder and better in FIBA cause the competition isn’t so great. haha
