Derrick Rose Signs With Adidas
Chicago’s Southtown Star is reporting that Derrick Rose will sign a deal to represent the Three Stripes:
Bulls rookie Derrick Rose has chosen the stripes of adidas over the swoosh of Nike, agreeing in principle to his first shoe deal.
“The details are being worked out, and I’m very satisfied with the work my agent (former Bulls guard B.J. Armstrong) has done, and I look forward to representing adidas,” Rose said from Las Vegas, where he is playing for the USA Basketball select team that is helping the U.S. Olympic Team prepare for Beijing.Adidas wasted no time bringing Rose into the fold, doing a photo shoot with him while he was in Los Angeles attending the ESPY Awards.

I am a bit surprised. He played in Nikes in the summer league and seemed like the next player in line to dump Adidas when they saw the dollars from Nike (Lebron) .

Man. What is up with adidas? Unless you are one of the big five, your show will look like trash. And even then, that’s no guarentee that your kicks will be on point. I hope Rose’s won’t have that Bounce crap. He could’ve been in line to have the next Jordan CP type of kick. Doc is right, If they aren’t shelltops, the shoe is crap.

I’m shocked that he just now signed a shoe deal. I thought most #1 picks and other prominent players had their shoe game incheck way before the draft. I know Bassy had his way before the draft (and he wasn’t even that high of a pick) Was Rose holding out for mega bucks or what?

its all about that C.R.E.A.M. i do have to say that the shelltoes are by far the dopest kicks adidas have ever come out with but Tmac has had a couple of nice sneaks. sadly nike would probably have paid him less but the shoe game would have been more on point…maybe these cats should start stepping in and help design something or give them at least some concepts.

Actually, the word on the street is that this year’s draft class is having a hard time finalizing shoe deals because the shoe companies aren’t sure exactly who is going to be marketable.
The only players I’ve heard about signing shoe deals from this class so far is OJ Mayo with Nike and now Derrick Rose with adidas.
