Yeah, or any starting point guard that is a legitimate star for that matter. Hell, forget stars, even Delonte West wouldn’t get benched for the WHOLE second half of a game with that magnitude.

For real though, I’m glad Diddy bounced to the Clips. This way a Clips-Lakers game won’t be a snoozefest anymore.

On a completely different note: What would it take for yours truly to become like a correspondent or something for DIME. Hate to say it but I think I could do better than half you cats HAHA!

Austin said it best. To me, Baron has won just as much as Gil. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t care if you get outta the first round of the playoffs cause that to me is not winning (so you can guess what I think of T-Mac). He’s a solid player, but people treating him like he’s a franchise changer (Diddy, that is) and I’m not sold…

I think if you asked GMs around the league who would they rather have as starting point guard, it might not be unanimous, but Gil would get the nod over B-Diddy. Is that to say Diddy’s not good? Not at all; dude can ball.

I’m sure you have played against players in the League and I respect what you think, but to say that Baron Davis is better than Gil is a stretch. And to all those who think he’s not worth the money, he’s an all-star, puts up numbers, generates interest, and fills the seats. All of that = $100 mil. whether you think it’s justified or not. I mean hell, even the Warriors think he’s worth that much so it’s not like a fluke…

@Truth and Flyaman. I agree w/ your take on Gil (screw the $$$, trying to win games) mine was just why an owner would give a 1 dimensional guy like Gil a max deal, and why/how Gil actually earns his, that’s all. Nothing beyond that…

If I was Brand I’d take that offer from G-State over the Clips. When Baron goes back to playing 50 games a year that’s something to think about.

Here’s a thought. If you’re the Warriors, why are you offering 100 over 5 to Arenas when you can cause some serious issues to the Clips and offer that BIG money to Brand AND Magette. Think Brand can turn down 70-100m/5 years? Ellis, Jack, Biedrins, and Brand would be legit

I played against a lot of these dudes in the league and Baron is that work any day of the week over Gil like I said.
