Dunk You Very Much
A dunk can give a lifeless team momentum. Some of the most memorable moments in NBA history are dunks that make you think, why in the world did that defender jump? Or did he really just do that? We found this YouTube video and some of these dunks are a little old but they are still timeless classics. Check out the look on Knick Hubert Davis’ face at the 1:42 mark when Michael Jordan finishes Patrick Ewing after a sick baseline move. We just wish we could push the mute button on Kenny Smith’s commentary.
Which dunk is your favorite?

That Dominque dunk was SICK

Kenny Anderson: “IT’S ONLY A TRULY CLASSIC TOP TEN DUNK IF THE BACKBOARD IS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. RICKY DAVIS’ DUNK IS WORTHLESS BECAUSE IT ONLY GOT TWO POINTS AND DIDN’T POTENTIALLY INJURE ANYONE OR STOP THE GAME FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.”
exaggeration but that’s what he sounded like during the first three.
My favorite is Tom Chambers’ because it’s extra hard to intimidate people in the paint when you rock a mullet and you’re whiter than Amy Whitehouse before the tanning bed, and plus the defender BARELY got his face out of the way of the oncoming nutsack that almost unceremoniously graced his face.

I also like how he basically said that a dunk doesn’t count if it’s in the olympics, accompanied by the vague allusion to the possibility that he thinks they shouldn’t even count for points at all, when suddenly Barkley chimes in screaming IF IT’S ON A EUROPEAN GUY!

@ Hubert Davis : Bullshit, Hubert Davis been drafted to the NBA in 1992, MJ dunked on Ewing in the ‘91 playoff…

You gotta put Ricky’s dunk in there he damn near cleared Stevie MVP!
Kenny is a hater!

I loved seeing Kevin Johnson get up on Hakeem, but Vince’s dunk is outrageous. He dumped over a 7-footer!

Kemp’s dunk was great. Pointing down at the guy after, like “Gotcha!”.

Kemp’s pump-reverse dunk in the Garden should have been top 10

Starks’ dunk should be nowhere near the top 10

But my all time favorite was Buckets on Nash just because his reaction was priceless! Oh Shit!

this is gotta be a top 5 all-time dunk never seen on TV. i was in vince carter’s charity all-star game, and to finish off the game he took an alley pass from the halfcourt line, and get this: took it between his legs and crammed it. i didnt knew i was up but that got me up.

barons dunk is def up there. and i like vc’s dunk over zo where he cocked it back even farther as a dark horse top 10 dunk.

My main man Ricky D deserves to be in there. I just wish he would have spread his legs to just clear Nash (Vince Carter style). Now give me that damn shoe. I’ll even pay for the shipping!
@ fiyaman: The Torture Chamber is a sick dunk. You can’t like the Ricky Davis dunk and then not like that. Chambers probably could have dunked the net if it were like 3 feet further. His arms weren’t even extended

vince carter cuz “it’s a great dunk, but it doesn’t count cause it was done on a european…”

They got Vince’s right. Until I see somebody get NBA Jam high in a game, that shit is the G.O.A.T. in my mind. The Tom Chambers dunk was a worthy edition. They should’ve had the dunk Kemp did when he posed in the air and boomed it. Another sleeper is when Ray Allen got Tracy McGrady back in 2001.

Justin Solomon says:
Vince’s dunk is the greatest of all time and will most likely never be done again, but what at Mr. 720’s dunk? You will never see an NBA player do that ish, some guys can barely do a 360. That should have been included.

Ahaha, the commenting was great – watcha talking about, Dime? The best part, isn’t the fact that he said it doesn’t count if it were on an European. The best part is that he paused for a good 3 seconds, wondering if he should say it, and then went for it. SCREW PC, GOTS TO KEEP IT REAL! hahaha those guys are great

Kevin Johnson claim to fame is being the only guard to ever dunk on Hakeem, lucky if you ask me.
I was watching the game when Ricky davis did that & I had the same reaction as him. OMG!
nique’ was the best @ doing it in the game on people’s heads!

J-Dot says:
There was a VC baseline slam against the Pacers yeears ago where he double pumped and reverse slammed it after gliding under the basket. Very similar to the reverse slams Kobe was doing seemingly on a nightly basis 3-4 seasons ago.
Also, KG’s one-handed full-extension tip-dunk the first game after Malik Sealy was outrageous. With KG pointing up to the heavens right after the dunk, it’s worthy of mention.
The Euro ballers have definitely made Kenny Smith eat his words. It gives some insight on the perspective players from the previous generation had regarding Euro ball players. I think we all know what time it is now lol…
Honestly, that Stromile Swift dunk against the Bulls this past season could definitely get in the Top 20. With the way he cocked it so far back, the ridiculous hangtime, the STRONG two-handed finish and the presence of multiple defenders, it’s hard not to consider it as an all-time dunk.
