“I don’t want to touch a basketball until August,” Arenas said. “After the last two seasons, I never really had time to recover. My knee is about 95 percent — it’s got to get stronger.”
Reading between the lines, one thing is clear - Arenas’ knee is not “95%”. Even if he provided a spark with three triples in the blink of an eye during the Wizards’ game one loss to the Cavs still fresh off of his rehab, he clearly couldn’t trust his knee.
He was talking about the knee as part of a tour of Berlin, Germany to promote the Wizards’ October 14th preseason game against the Hornets. When reporters asked him about that game, he flipped the switch and went into vintage trash-talking Agent Zero mode - even if he’s basically fabricating a non-existent rivalry. The Wiz beat the Hornets twice last season in their only two matchups, one of which featured a DeShawn Stevenson buzzer beater.
“I’ll score, say, 35 in 20 minutes,” he said. “It’s a real rivalry. It’s going to be a serious game — both teams don’t like each other.”

They might got a little semi-rivalry going.You know how that go.It only take one person like Deshawn on the court to scream,Lock CP up Gil he overatted,CP gets hype carving Gil and them up talking shit and they come back with it.A lot of the little shit talking goes on out there.I like Gil sometimes though but I never want to see him beat Lebron and them just because I like the most exciting players going the farthest.Unless its the Sixers,I want them to win it all even if they roll out one of them starting 5’s from the 40’s.

as a dc native……the wiz are kinda like the girl that was a good fun lay when you met her but has gotten boring and predictable. im torn on the whole gil situation…unless blatche becomes the next kg or an asteroid kills every team but nd the ‘cats.
