Gilbert Arenas Goes After The Cavs
Arenas uncensoredGilbert Arenas held court in the nation’s capital yesterday for a, as the DC Sports Bog’s Dan Steinberg put it, “Yeah I signed two weeks ago” press conference. And of course Gil didn’t limit himself to his new $111 million deal.
In fact, Arenas took a shot at the Cavs, saying that they’ve “just been beating up on some hurt dogs” in the playoffs.
“It’s kind of funny when you think about it,” he said. “Everybody says we can’t get past Cleveland. Cleveland beat us one year, that was three years ago. The other years they’ve just been beating up on some hurt dogs. We just want to get our fair shot when we’re healthy at the right time, because two years we showed what kind of team we are….We were rolling, we were top five in the league, and that’s what kind of team we are when we’re healthy. When we’re healthy that’s the kind of team we are, we’re a top five team in the league.”
And then, Agent Zero almost compared himself to LeBron.
“You guys played the whole season without me and you guys made it to the playoffs,” he said. “Tell Cleveland to play without LeBron. I don’t think they won a game last year.”
How do you think these comments are received by ‘Bron? He reportedly sprained his ankle yesterday in the Team USA scrimmage. So is he checking his e-mail, seeing that one of his boys forwarded him what Gil said in his press conference? LeBron definitely has a good sense of humor (see: The LeBrons commercials; joking about his mom getting involved after the ‘tif during the Celtics series).
So is there any chance that LeBron reads those comments and vows to destroy Gilbert?

n you are right about the past 2 yrs. when we got swept. it was bkuz we had no gil OR caron. n last yr. Gil was fucked up n NOBODY was completly healed. remember Caron was playing with an injury. n Twan was banged up or fatigued.

2nd everyone knows the Cavs cant win w/o Bron so what does that mean.. 99% of the teams cant win w/o their star (some teams just have more stars than others)
3rd once u step on that court there is no excuse. If you on the court then u can play if u hurt so bad that its affecting ur team get of the court.. (IM not saying guys dont play injured, im saying thats not an excuse.. if ur injuried dont play and if u do play dont make any excuses.. usually when u play injured u have more adreniline and a lot of times play better cause u try harder)

I don’t Lebron will try to destroy the Wizards for 40-50 like some think. When Deshawn was calling Lebron overrated, Lebron played like he normally do in the series and didn’t try to hit him up for 40 or 50. Some players you can talk to and it will not affect how they play the game one way or the other. However, if someone talk trash to Kobe or Rasheed he will make it his personally responsibility to try to destroy you.

As always, people like to make nothing into something. Arena’s statement says more about the quality of the supporting cast of the respective teams. He is not comparing himself to Lebron. Its stupid to think otherwise and hype this up the way reporters do- even dime.

Against the Wiz, Lebron did what he always do against the Wiz and the rest of the league, avearge 30 points. The most points he scored the series was 34 points. He always do that against the Wizards. I don’t think trash talking have a effect on Lebron one way or the other. When you talk trash to Kobe he goes into Kill me mode. The same with Rasheed. Notice Rasheed will step his game up when either he get angry with the ref or someone talk smack to him. That is one of the reason Garnett wasn’t hollering at Rasheed like he did McDyees in the Boston series. You do not want to wake Rasheed up because then he become motivated. What is the diffence from the way Lebron played against the Wizard than the way he played against any other team?

Gilbert is a silly man.. hasnt Lebron done enough to him?? i mean first the whole whispers at the foul line (which he missed BOTH) that COMPLETELY showed Agent Zero isnt hard enough to an actual Agent.. and then the playoff exits.. But ANY player who claims to be as good as GA does would have gotten his team over the hump by now..
I think deep down this Gil’s bitterness talking.. but who wouldnt be bitter?? Everyone says the Cav’s are garbage but they still manage to make it deep into the playoffs each year.. cant be that bad.. I think ppl just WANT to see Lebron with a dominant team.. A super team he could run with and dominate teams like he does his matchups.. But they are always big (Ilgauskas (top 10 center btw), Varejo, Wallace, Traylor lol) and in the east thats something good to build off of.. They always have shooters (Jones eh, West, gibson, Sverbiak) and they always have ahtletic wings so all they need is a true dominant PG.. and dont forget the Defensive system is good so they can defend the rock.. Sounds like a DECENT team.. So can everyone quit saying he needs help??
