For the Grizzlies to maintain their hard-earned rep as the team supplying talent to the rest of the League on the cheap, they’ll need to choose wisely when loosening the five-guard logjam in their backcourt. It’s almost a blessing for that one lucky ballplayer who gets his ticket out of town, as he’s destined to make Memphis look bad.
So congratulations, Javaris Crittenton, it looks like you’re the top-flight talent that GM Chris Wallace will ship out of town for 10 cents on the dollar. The 6-5 guard’s skill set is more similar to O.J. Mayo’s than any of the other guards in town - and that makes him expendable.
But Memphis has poured valuable resources into the former Yellow Jacket, enough to make them think twice about trading him. Crittenton reached out to former NBA sharpshooter Mark Price, who works as a consultant with the Grizz to work with him this summer on his J. (So by now, his J should be oil.)
“He’s taught me a lot. He’s a great shooter,” Crittenton said. “In order to improve my shooting, I wanted to work with one of the best. He emphasized footwork. A lot of people don’t understand how important footwork is with shooting. He broke down a lot of stuff to me that I didn’t even know would help your shot.”
Earlier during the offseason, the Magic were in talks for Crittenton’s services. But that didn’t pan out. The Nuggets are looking to shed some dollars, and could use some youth in their backcourt. Plus, shouldn’t the Pacers be calling and trying to lure Wallace into some package of Jamaal Tinsley and David Harrison?

isotope,
Houston’s a great solution for both teams. Memphis needs interior toughness, which the Rockets have plenty of in Chuck Hayes, Carl Landry, Joey Dorsey, Mike Harris, etc.
Even though Aaron Brooks had 8 dimes in a summer league game earlier in the week, he’s not a real point.
Plus, nothing will keep Rafer motivated like a capable backup breathing down his neck. Right?

i see where your going but easy there cowboy it’s not even almost as good jarvis is solid, but he is no oj,however he can be a real point though which we don’t know if oj can do yet..good move for the heat, but to have mario and jarvis they would get eaten up by the rest of the league at the point too much inexperience

To the Knicks !
He’ll play back up to Duhon and eventually send Duhon’s sorry, lazy ass to the bench where it belongs.
Giving David Lee would be too much. Why not send Eddy Curry or ZBo ? Memphis definitely needs some non-atrocious big men.
My favourite trade, though, would be Lee for Conley, which makes sense for both teams.
