Ricky Davis Wants the Ball in the Fourth Quarter
Ricky wants the ballRicky Buckets couldn’t call for the rock in crunch time in Miami with Dwyane Wade on the floor. But now that he’s headed to the Clippers who will have a completely different look in ‘08, Ricky wants to be on the court when the game matters most.
“As long as I’m out there in that fourth quarter and it’s time to win that game,” Davis said. “That’s when I want to be playing.”
What is Mike Dunleavy going to think about running an out-of-bounds play for Davis with the game on the line? Ricky does have a track record of torching the Clippers – he put up 22 points per game against them in two games last season, and also banked a 34-point night against the Clips back in ‘04 when he played for the Celts.
“Ricky has shown tremendous ability to torch people in this building,” said Clippers President Andy Roeser at Staples Center. “Unfortunately, he was playing for other teams when he did it.”
Should Ricky Davis get the rock with the game on the line for the Clippers?

Ricky “Buckets” Davis should be on the floor depending on how Gordon progresses, but the ball should def be in Boom Dizzles hands…Does anybody remeber that dunk in the clutch on AK47…ouch!!!

JA says:
Man that’s tough. You have to look at FT shooting too, obviously. BD is a career 69.2% FT shooter, while Buckets is a career 78.3% shooter. And since Baron is pretty much only effective taking it to the rim (career 41.4% FG shooter), the possibility for him getting fouled and going to the line is high.

that’s the second picture in the last week where dude is chillin’ with his dogs! didn’t michael vick teach you anything dime?!?! keep the dogs out! it can be used as evidence later on!
but boom dizzle should be as comfortable with ricky buckets as he was with jackson…aren’t they the same player basically?

Negative JA
Baron is one of the most clutch players in the L. I bet his 4th quarter FT and FG percentages are higher than that.
Either way you always want the ball in the hands of your best guy and that is Boom

Ricky Davis should never -I mean EVER- be given the ball in the 4th quarter. This dumbass might shoot at his own basket…AGAIN
I’m not even sure he’s an upgrade from Smush Parker.
Jus kiddin’, he definitely is…sorry Smush

Mox, you are correct I was hating too much.
Baron’s 4th quarter FG% was indeed clutch at 49.4% this past year. His FT% was still low at 71% however.
Makes me wonder what he shoots all of the other times to get his FG% to be 41%, but that’s another story.

@ pimpdaddy
he’s not afraid to take any shot even if it’s a bad one but having seen him with the ball in many clutch situations (when D-Wade was out) he rarely if ever made the shot.

Ricky should be on the floor in the 4th, especially when they have a chance to win the game. You have to have your best players on the floor taht give you a chance to win the game. With that being said I would have a lineup of Davis, Gordon, Ricky, Thorton & Kaman in the 4th.

Austin Burton says:
Come on, you know every end-of-quarter or end-of-game play for the Clippers will be Baron milking the clock until there’s 4 seconds left and everyone else standing around watching while he takes a step-back three.

I must say, I do enjoy the press Buckets has been getting lately… Obviously he is not the most clutch player in the league, but I am glad he wants the ball in the 4th. What if a player said they don’t want the ball in crunch time? What are they then? I know there is a difference between being confident and thinking you are the shit, but as the quote says “As long as I’m out there in that fourth quarter and it’s time to win that game,” Davis said. “That’s when I want to be playing”… If a player does not say that, then there’s a problem.
As far as I’m concerned, Ricky D is doing his thing and will have another solid double-digit year which is better than any of us will ever do, so good for him.
P.S. I’m still lookin’ for that shoe! I’ve been giving comments on mad Ricky Davis shit! I really hope I have proved that I need that shoe. Please hook it up!
