  6. G says:

I would like this to give to my boy. Hes a die hard Laker’s fan and endured a ton of abuse and one scuffle during the finals rocking his Laker gear out to the bars in Boston. I think he earned it.

    dimecrew,

7 dvd set collection of the run and gun lake show!!? are you kidding me!? ooh snap! you gotta put me on for this one. i grew up in Inglewood a few streets away from the forum. I cried for days when ralph sampson knocked us out on that prayer in 86. was running in the streets when we took it back in 87. I used to wait out back in the forum parking lot to see mike mcgee, ronnie lester, magic, byron (5′8, i was never gonna be anything but a pg.) i was “21″ on all my park and rec bball leagues tryin to be like coop. i got a 13″ tv and a half broke ps2 playin dvds. I’m 34 and eat ramen noodles to save money. nothing would cheer me up more than seein chuck nevitt’s one block per game in garbage time, rambis’ dives, larry spriggs (poor man terry cummings) inside game, mcadoo and wilkes and their crazy jump shots. from a guy who was with the lake show in the old days watching norm nixon, the lean days of sedale threatt running the point (even got sad when he got car jacked back in the day), and the roots of their rebirth with nick the quick (…”handle like van exel” and ced ceballos (we all forgot about his 12″ back in the day)…let me cop that dvd set from you all. let me reminisce like pete rock and cl smooth of the glory days when magic would clown people on the daily and i had not yet heard the term “bills” yet.

Just to watch Magic throw some no looks is good enough for me to have it.

  9. MoxWestCoastRep says:

This is me! Born and bread Laker fan, I got a picture w Magic when I was 4 years old and loads of Laker memorabilia so this would fit nicely in my collection.
I haven’t asked for anything yet, except for my Team Love Tee, of course. lol

I was born in 1979 (dec.14) and I have only heard about the great Celtic/Lakers games. i would love to actually watch them for myself and get educated on the greatest rivalry ever.

  11. Michorizo says:

I want this but I don’t want to win … I am saving my luck for the lottery.

  12. Donnie Abadilla says:

    DIME MAG!!!

I hate to ask for this since I am a die hard born and raised Golden State Warriors fan but I am married to a live and die in LA Lakers fan. My wife Faith loves the Lakers and she plus her whole family give me flak for my Warriors all the time since I am a transplanted fan living in enemy territory.

Help me score points with the wifey by giving me this collection to give to her.

For all I care the Lakers suck hard chunks. Or should I say the Los Angeles Kobes. Man I hate them with a passion but I love my wife more.

  13. MoxWestCoastRep says:

Sorry Donnie, buy her some flowers. That aint a good reason to get the DVDs!

  14. Jason Lodge says:

I’m a die-hard life long Laker fan. The first basketball games I watched I fell in love with Magic’s no-look passes, Kurt’s hustle and crazy glasses, Kareem’s unblockable skyhook, and the beauty of Wilkes’ weird-ass jumpshot. My sports season depends entirely upon the Lakers. My girlfriends throughout my life have become passionate Lakers fans upon the realization that, as the Laker game goes, so goes my disposition. I’ve only just started reading about basketball again in the last week because the last loss of the season hurt so bad, and my friends and family still know better than to bring it up.
I think my life has coincided with how well the Lakers do…the 80’s were awesome, the 90’s sucked but were looking up at the end (Threatt as your starting PG can ruin high school; thank god for Nick), and the 2000’s have been great. I’d truly love to have this DVD collection, to watch with my dad, the one person I know who feels the pain of a Lakers loss and the joy of a Lakers win (and this is in the PRESEASON lol) like I do.

And if it does get me something, make it a gods-damn Team Alexander shirt already!

    Peace

    WHAT ONLY 15 COMMENTS?!
    FOR THIS PIECE OF GOLD?
ever since i’ve came to the states in 02 straight from Korea, i’ve been a die-hard Lakers fan, through the difficult times from the glory days to the crumbling of the Team USA lineup (Payton,Kobe,Shaq,Mailman) all the way till the glory year (which NO ONE saw coming!) and stuck through even when my best friend talked shit on Kobe cus of the trials. I became a dedicated DimeMag reader, and THIS WOULD BE THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME !

AND since NO ONE ELSE WANTS IT!
(48 comments for barkley’s jersey but only 18 for this ;[)
DIMEMAG YOU KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW THIS IS FOR ME
lawl MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE

  17. E-Trouble says:

You should just hand this over to me because among all the Laker “fans” chiming in, I seem to be the only dude to know that Magic’s junior sky hook over McHale happened in the 1987 Finals (not 1985). Nuff said

  18. ash says:

There is it….the first item of the great Laker Franchise.

If y’all have been reading my posts, you know I’m a born-and-bred Bostonians whose been a LAKER fan my whole life. There’s a long story with my dad—when he came to this country and started watching hoops it was Lakers/Celts and even thou he was in the bean, on style, racial, cultural lines he became a huge Lakers and MAGIC fan. I grew up in this environment…

So i’ve spent my life defending the Lakers in the bean, going to games I could in my full gear (only to be heckled from the drunk irish to the 8 year old little bostonians)…and stayed thru the cedric ceballos days (i even own his #23 Lakers jersey)…and was very happy to see them back in the limelight post-shaq…

i’d love to have the dvd…so now, it only makes sense to replace that bird joint with this and wrap it in the sheed jersey!!!
