Suns Sign Matt Barnes
The Phoenix Suns have agreed to terms with Warriors free agent Matt Barnes. This would appear to be a great signing for the Suns, not only because Barnes thrives in Suns/Warriors-style systems, but also because it’s a one-year deal and they got him for the verteran’s minimum of $926,678!
Maybe there are other issues at play that A) led to Matt’s benching in Golden State and B) forcing him to signing for the minimum because there are plenty of teams that would appear to need a guy who can shoot, run and play D.

I think this is a good pickup, dude is a poor man’s shawn marion without the knack for rebounding. I like this pickup by phoenix, and they didn’t have to pay much to get him. I think he could be a vital peice in the playoffs.

Seriously, what did Barnes do? He’s jumped around the league and the kid can play. He can shoot, is tough, and can play multiple positions.

Who knows? Wit Nelly though, he probably didn’t do a thing, Nelly is just erratic man. you see he sat Davis in the playoffs in the most crucual moments of the game. Nelly is just plain retarded.

I feel bad for Barnes. He’s got legit talent, killed it in the Warriors / Mavs playoff series, but still doesn’t get a lot of PT. Although Dime called him super inconsistent (or whatever) I think he could be a legit 6th man and definitely deserves some years and something more than the veteran’s minimum. I don’t get why he keeps bouncing around. I’m glad he’s persevered and stayed in the L though. I remember he was strongly considering quitting.

he deserves soo much better, simply b’cuz of his hair cut, and the boy runs the floor. Him and Monta was probably the fastest 1-2 punch tht ihave seen in a backcourt…Him and Nash should be nice as well

Man, Nellie really screwed this guy. I bet MB could have got a long term deal if he had averaged 20 minutes a game last season but not with Dictator Nelson.

Matt Barnes 2nd agent needs to be shot (he’s on #3). That a**hole should have locked him into that good 4 yr 20 mil money he could have gotten after that playoff series and fantastic season. They talked him into the whole “two in the bush” argument, and Nellie jerked him. Thats pisses me off cuz he’s a great kid.

His talents will fit the Suns seamlessly. Because Matt Barnes isn’t a big name, Steve Kerr will go largely unheralded for this signing, just as Danny Ainge’s acquisition of James Posey last season wasn’t really duly acknowledged until the back end of the season by the press.

Matt Barnes, great story, not a great basketball player. He was a great fit in GS because all of those guys were super emotional lunatics. How he didn’t get fined or suspended for his flying jackie chan style tackle of that jazz guy going for a dunk continues to astound me. (the same game were baron elbowed dfish in the back of the head)
Just take a look at that guy, the NBA . . . where meth addiction happens.

He can run and shoot and has a 1 year peanuts deal .doubt you find a more motivated player this season.
