T-Mobile Sidekick Release Party

Sometimes you can’t do anything but sit back and laugh at certain situations. I have been a T-Mobile Sidekick fan since the first generation dropped a couple of years back. I recently switched over to a blackberry after being harassed by my co-workers. Statements like “Chris, you are 26 years old, not 16,” and “Oh that’s a Sidekick….My sister has one of those” flew around the office daily.

After finally getting adjusted (well almost) to the blackberry, where do I find myself last night? No other place than the launch party for the new T-Mobile Sidekick…and might I say it was by far one of the best parties I have ever been to.

Held at an old NYC bath house turned event space, all the stops were pulled out on this one. The theme of the night was customization, since the new sidekick can be personalized to its user’s liking.
The food selection was crazy. Party attendees had the choice of do-it-yourself garden salads, ramen noodles, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The creations people were coming up with were insane. For dessert sno-cones and milk shakes (complete with whip cream and chocolate straws) were available.

Artists painted their own Sidekick inspired paintings while mimes and human statues performed and posed with the new device. Since the Sidekick has video, there was a movie screen set up where party-goers could dance and act a fool for all the other guests to see.

The hottest part of the night was the custom skateboard setup downstairs. Not only did you get a free skateboard, but you were able to personalize it with our own design created by the graffiti artists on hand.

Big ups to Jackson Jeyanayagam for the invite!
