We Reminisce: 38-year-old Michael Jordan gives Minnesota 35

There’s kind of a misconception that Michael Jordan wasn’t still The Man when he spent a little time playing for the Wizards. If you’re one those with that idea, watch 38-year-old, bad-knees-having, terrible-team-around-him Mike dump a nice 35 points on KG, Chauncey and the Wolves. And is it me or would Jahidi White have been an All-Star if Mike had stuck around a few more years? He was making a living off MJ.

Yep. The fadeaway over KG was SICK.

  2. doc says:

He could get in shape right now and put up 35

  3. Harvey Dent says:

I think if he got in shape he could average about 17 to 20.

  4. Justice says:

umm nah..i say he would average 10-15..and 8ppg will be from free throws,he will always be able to get to the line

  5. Coach T says:

G.O.A.T… There was no talent around him in Washington. If he was on the right team and in shape, he could easily average 12 to 18 a game. More importantly, he could always get his shot off against anybody, something very view players can accomplish today. G.O.A.T makes me feel young!

  6. Justice says:

if people don’t go for his pump fakes,i think he would have a tough time,i could see him in that michael finley role though just shooting 3pointers except mike can run ur offense too.but it’s a ton of athletic wings,i think that would be an issue for him…he would still have to be doubled though…

  7. iain. says:

damn flip you put szcerbiak on mike bad things gon’ happen. Even if MJ was 60..

it’s not you at all, announcer said it at 5:46

  9. pimpdaddy says:

I was at the washington/hornets game where MJ put up a stone cold 55 on nothin’ but jumpers, fadeaways, and lay-ups….he was & always will be a muthafuckin’ beast!!!!!!!!

I know it’s blasphemous but honestly, I feel like MJ is overrated. I think he is the best there ever was and still the best there ever has been to this day…but the margin of greatness isn’t as far out as most people make it seem. I think that when LeBron or Kobe are done with their respective careers…one of them will be pretty close to if not past MJ’s achievements.

    Bring on the bashing…

  11. Big Sneezy says:

Jordan was the greatest in his Chicago years and still pretty nice in the Wizards uni, but here if you look at top of the screen, the Wiz were losing the whole game.

And maybe if he wasn’t drafting Kwame Brown and making questionable trades, the team could have had some better players for him to play with. The Wizards were pretty much just a vanity project for Michael.

  12. Hugo says:

Man … that’s just BS … This guy is from other planet. I’m pretty sure that if his knees weren’t that bad, he could still be playing. And please, don’t bring Kobe and Lebron to the same conversation with this guy … He is above greats like Magic and Bird, Kobe will never be as good as those two … Michael is on a whole another level. He improved the Wizards from a 19-63 to a 37-45 basically only entering the team … He is the best ever, and I don’t think we will see other player like him.

If he wanted and his knees hold up, he could be playing with a team, something like 20 mpg and scoring a 14,4,6. And if there is someone that could enter an NBA court and still play well at 50, I think this one is Michael Jordan.

that dunk on KG was sick - drove right past him, vintage MJ! G.O.A.T.

Me and my mate had a fifty buck bet that year, i said the wizards wouldnt make the playoffs my mate said they would. That was a crazy bet, the wizards had a playoff spot lock up mid year…i was ready to hand the money over on the spot….then MJ got injured and they plummeted out of the playoff race. $ for me but Wiz were goin playoffs that yr if MJ stays healthy.

  15. BALLZ says:

    @pimpdaddy
I was at that Hornets Wiz game myself and it was actually 51. 24 at the end of the first fucking quarter, 38 at the half. I was 22 years old, a lifetime Jordan devotee, and me and my friends made an 8-hour pilgrimage to watch the GOAT…first time any of us had ever seen him play live. The game before that, MJ had a career-low 6 points against the Pacer. All our boys were shitting on us for driving up to watch him, “Naw dude he’s washed up!” You could just see it on his face from the tip, they were gonna have to cart him off that floor dead if he didn’t give somebody 50. Unreal. I’ve never been so happy in the nosebleed section

Thank you for setting the record straight.
