We Reminisce: Charles Barkley gives the Warriors 56 in a playoff game; 27 in the 1st quarter
In the 1994 playoffs, Charles Barkley did the Warriors dirty in Game Three of their first round series: 56 points and 14 boards, including a 27-point performance IN THE FIRST QUARTER on 11-for-11 shooting and 38 in the first half. Don Nelson has absolutely no idea how to deal with Chuck, allowing Chris Gatling to get his soul taken without so much as sending a double-team. Chris Webber took his turns, and didn’t do much better.

Chuck was killing them. It looked effortless too. Dude was only 6′6″ busting them to pieces crazy!

I met Barkley a few years back. I’m 6′5″ and I was taller than him, so he’s more like 6′4″. What a phenominal athlete he was. Led the league in rebounding at 6′4″. What a unique player!

Scorer, rebounder, enforcer, and the only 6′4 player to be successful defending Shaq. Hard to understand how he never got a ring, but still one of the best at the position….

Ansonious says:
Just for one the admiral didn’t do that in the postseason and for two they should show that funny ass video of sir charles standing up to shaq pretending like he would of been breathing if that would’ve escalated. But thanks dime crew for showing some love

I got this on dvd from Pontel a year ago. The first quarter is so fun to watch! That step back-fade away 3 he nails with a defender in his mug? Nasty.

Austin Burton says:
@#14 — The defender on that play was Sprewell, too. He just stood there and looked at him.

Charles Barkley was the Best Powerforward Ever from 1986 to 1996. There is no doubt about that. In his prime he was better than Malone by far. Not to mention Duncan and Garnett got schooled by an aging crippled Charles in the late 90s
