Would Stephon Marbury Drop 40 on the Summer League?
Steph (photo. Chad Griffith)After adding former D-Leaguer Anthony Roberson to effectively take Stephon Marbury’s spot, the Knicks are one guaranteed contract over the League limit. That leaves two notorious names on the block, one of whom will end up on the cutting room floor: Jerome James and Stephon Marbury.
But don’t count Steph out just yet.
“I wouldn’t rule him out yet,” Walt Frazier told The Post. “I think bringing him to camp to see what he looks like, I think they should. He gets $20 million, he might as well help this team.
“I think he’s willing to sacrifice. His reputation has been tarnished. He’s got something to prove. I saw him (Monday) and he looked great.”
Steph has been practicing with the Knicks’ summer league team in Vegas. Clyde thinks that Marbury’s eager to prove that he’s worth some of that $20 million deal.
If Steph were to step onto the hardwood in Vegas for the first time since January 11th, what would he do to the summer league comp?

Dudes like Louis Williams and John Salmons have gone for 30+ in summer league games in the past. Steph’s not close to what he once was but he could still mop most of the competition out there.

anyway the type of game that steph has the skills wont go away as fast as you may think,i think he can still be successfull for the simple fact that he doesnt have to adjust his game as most players do when they get older, he has always been a slasher but what makes him deadly is that he has a killer mid range game,yo-yo handles, and he simply will over power most point guards when he gets in the paint…
i can’t see Kyle Lowry, or Conley jr stopping Stephon Marbury..sorry lol..that’s funny to me

If Marbury DESIRES to ball, he is one of the best in the league. Top 20 easy IMO. He looks to be in shape, I wish I was in Vegas to try to sit in on some of the training sessions to see how he is going at it. Not a fan of his, but I do hope he makes a reappearance in the L this year to add to the growing competitiveness of lead guards.

Felton (chip on shoulder) vs Anyone

Baron Davis vs Bayless/Monta/Foye/
And just to see if Marbury after having his name and game tossed in the dumpster the past few seasons can let everyone know what one of the last legit Point-Gods (Marbury, Baron Davis) in the L really looks like when dialed…
(Point-God) = Ultimate mismatch. Too quick, Too strong, Too big for small guards, Too much ball control, solid J, great finisher, excellent court vision, Ego big enough to lock cats up when it everyone is watching and knows how to live for the moment when it comes (not always successful clutch, but is always Present in the clutch)…

Yea I crunch easily gets 40 or 50 but goes into all about me mode to do it. And as said before everything he enters goes down the drain seemingly.
