Man to man defense doesn’t require much outside of sheer effort.

Amaré was just denying responsibility for his past inability to play defense. This isn’t some peer pressure situation: just because player (A) doesn’t play D, doesn’t mean you don’t have to (especially when you’re in a league with the supposed best). Step your game up STAT, this season we’re watching for PROGRESS.

He’s talking about the deliberate fouls on Shaq at half court when he doesn’t have thee ball. Should be freethrows and the ball for fouling someone without the ball.

Show me one team or player that is a great defensively and defense isn’t made a priority by the head coach… I’ll wait… There are none. If the coach doesn’t make it a priority then it’s not going to happen.
If you ever played team ball you would know that.
All the best teams in league have one thing in common… not the players, bcuz all the teams have talented players. The common thread of the best teams in the NBA are the head coaches that can lead the team to win and play together.

if amare was drafted by the spurs, he’d be glued to the bench. even s-jax had to learn how to stay in front of his man to get PT and if he wasn’t, they’d stick ayoung manu in there

Coach D turned the Suns franchise around from an irrelevant team to a chip contender. They were the most entertaining team to watch before they copped Shaq. People need to quit hating on Coach D’Antoni and appreciate what he did for the NBA. If I wanted to watch nothing but fundamental basketball with great team D, I’de be a Spurs fan.
