Damn this sucks, I remember Duck b/c those were some really formative hoop years for me. Those Laker/Pistons/Bulls/Blazers teams of the late 80s early 90s. RIP

I think he wasn’t in the league very long because of the dreaded Knee Problems and also he apparently couldn’t keep his weight down

Lots of memories of dude.

Still the story that sticks out is one from you all at DIME i believe. Where you all mentioned some story where he was interviewed. Subject came up about how he got joked on about his name. Dude was hurt and asked something like “What is a duck really worth?”

That’s terrible. What a great player with a great heart. He shall be missed by the basketball community all over.

Honestly, the Blazers/Bulls Finals of ’92 was one of my favorite Finals match-ups of all time.

Damn he was only 44? He hasn’t been in the L for at least a decade. I wonder why he retired so early. Rest in peace Duck. Hopefully he’s taking that funky looking mid-range jumper on the courts in the sky.
