LeBron sets a 2012 ultimatum, Houston’s D gets even stronger, and Stephen Jackson wants money

Ron ArtestRon Artest, Dime #21

According to Jason Kidd, LeBron said he won’t play for Team USA in 2012 if Kidd’s not on the roster. Of course that probably holds about as much water as Shaq’s “I won’t play for any coach other than Phil Jackson/Pat Riley” declarations, so we wouldn’t feel any pressure if we were Jerry Colangelo to include 39-year-old Kidd when the London Olympics rolls around. How should USA Basketball move forward, though? The World Championship is coming up in 2010, there’s an Olympic qualifier (if necessary) in 2011, then London in 2012. The roster is one thing, but is Coach K coming back? Who else would be good to lead the U.S. squad? … If Team USA does qualify for London via the World Championship, that means they can do like Argentina did in in 2007 and send a JV squad to the FIBA Americas in 2011. Would you go with a “B” team of younger NBA players in that case, send some college kids, or do you still send the A-Team so they can keep their chemistry going? … Andres Nocioni on his banged-up knee: “I do not feel my knee right now because I feel my bronze medal right here.” That sounds like something Raef LaFrentz would say, just minus the bronze medal part … Can Sean Singletary just be allowed to buy a condo already? It’s been two months since the draft, and the kid is already on his third NBA city: Sacramento, then Houston (part of the Ron Artest trade), and now Phoenix, where he was sent yesterday in exchange for D.J. Strawberry. At worst Singletary will be the third PG behind Steve Nash and Goran Dragic, at best he has a shot to beat out Dragic in camp for the #2 spot. The Rockets get a bit more size at the PG spot with Strawberry (if he makes the team), as well as someone with potential to be a GREAT pro defender; imagine a lineup with Strawberry, Artest, Shane Battier, Dikembe Mutombo and Carl Landry/Joey Dorsey all on the court at the same time. Who’s scoring on them? Granted, they’ll have a hell of a time putting the ball in the basket themselves, but that’s lock-down on the defensive end … The second annual Nike Tournament of Champions was held at NYC’s Goat Park over the weekend, and the Dime crew was there. The TOC pits the winners of the city’s major Nike tournaments — Pro City, Tri-State Classic, West 4th and Dyckman — against each other to decide the undisputed best playground squad in New York. Asphalt big dogs Antwan “Anti-Freeze” Dobie, Corey “The Undertaker” Underwood, Darryl “Showtime” Hill, Mike Campbell and Kenny Satterfield were part of the action, and while Ron-Ron’s Pro City title squad was in the tourney, Artest didn’t play. BallersNetwork.com has a full recap of the tournament … It was just last week or so when we read about the Blazers being committed to Steve Blake as the opening-day starting point guard, and now they’re reportedly shopping Travis Outlaw around to get some PG help. The latest rumor has the Blazers offering Outlaw to the Grizzlies; Portland wants Mike Conley or Kyle Lowry, but more likely would get Javaris Crittenton if Memphis has their way. If you ask us, Crittenton alone isn’t enough for Outlaw, who really came into his own last season and would be the Blazers’ starting small forward unless you want to platoon 6-5 Rudy Fernandez and Martell Webster at the three … The Grizzlies are also rumored to be discussing a Zach Randolph trade with the Knicks. Darko would probably be involved in such a deal, but when you look at how much money Z-Bo is making ($14.6 million), the Grizz would have to throw in someone else to match the salaries. And guess which Memphis players would be close to a mathematical fit? Either Marko Jaric or Antoine Walker. That would be just cruel after all that Knicks fans have been through … Stephen Jackson hasn’t held his tongue about wanting a big-money extension from the Warriors (he sounds like he wants more scratch than Monta Ellis, at least more than Corey Maggette). Then in a hypothetical scenario posed to him by the San Jose Mercury News, S-Jack was asked if he would walk away from the NBA right now for $65 million, or keep playing for $3 million a year for the rest of his career. “I’ll take the 65 and walk away,” Jackson said. “I only have, if God say the same, six or seven years left. That don’t add up to 65. From a business standpoint, I would be stupid not to take the 65. But at the same time, I love the game of basketball. Even when I retire, I’m gonna play. But that’s a no-brainer.” … Yesterday we asked our readers to come up with an idea for a basketball-themed reality TV show. Surprisingly, no one suggested, “Shaq’s 200-Yard Challenge.” … Usain Bolt is going mainstream. We caught some of the Seahawks/Chargers NFL preseason game yesterday, and when Seattle’s Nate Burleson caught a TD in the first quarter, her pounded his chest like Bolt right before he reached the end zone, then did the “bow-and-arrow” pose after the touch … We’re out like Kidd in 2012 …

PAY S-JACK HIS MONEY hes the second best player on the squad.

  4. ian says:

no way Kidd plays in 2012, Bron is just being diplomatic. or he is saying already he IS NOT playing in 2012, so thanks for the invite. cuz no way DWill and CP3 plus another young upcoming PG will be supplanted by an aged Kidd.

  5. josh tha roc says:

i will be real intersted to see what happens in 2012…does that ‘the world bridging the gap’ school of thought continue or will the USA stay all focused and start widening the gap again. im not sure, but if the USA keeps rolling out the super focused superstars i think the gap could broaden…i mean a lot the gun players from the other countries are aging and may not play then, while USA has a young squad and will only get better.

  6. JHov says:

I think the thing about “Captain Jack” is that he already has a championship ring so he not sticking around in the league just to win one! Plus 65 million will feed your family and your kids family too!

smh at Kidd playing at age 39! I heard Kobe say he would come back at 34 if the team would take him too!

  7. Damon says:

does team usa even have to play in the americas tourney when they are already qualified for the olympics?

  8. bobbito garcia says:

stephen jackson should change is nickname from s-jack to hi-jack….lol

  9. Coop says:

Right I’m going have to voice my opinion on that piece of dirt ‘Captain Jack’. This guy is a rancid carbuncle on the backside of the league in many ways. allow me to elucidate: He is already barking about wanting more money because his colleagues have re-upped. Couple of issues, ‘JACK’; they’re young and have potential. GS are paying to secure the future. You’re old. Secondly, a gunner who shoots 40% from the field can’t demand SHIT! get back to working on your game, chump! Thirdly, I don’t see you giving money back you earned while ruining Indiana’s team you mug. But you don’t mind taking the money when it finally goes right, eh?

People such as ‘Jax’ make me want to kill myself to escape this fucked-up world. And if I see something from him along the lines of ‘I need to feed my family’ I’ll personally pay him a visit with a bat, and an armoury of insults such as “maybe if you hadnt pissed all your money away on stupid fucking ‘pimped’ houses, jewellery and pointless cars then you’d be able to feed the next 10 generations of Jacksons without blinking you disgusting mentally deficient piece of shit!”

    Done.

    @ coop
very hard words, but as a pacers fan i can’t dispute it.
don’t have anything nice to say about this idiot.

  13. Alf (from Melmak) says:

i have yet to see any of the responses but having malone, rodman, laimbeer, and sir charles stay in one house for 2 months would be a nice reality tv. or have an audition for a boy band from the nba. sort of like nsynch or backstreet boys type. i see lots of potential in that sort of audition. :)

as for s-jack, he truly deserves more money. he is probably the most versatile player on that warrior lineup. and he always plays his guts out.

to the original alf here: my friends have been calling me alf for the longest of time. i grew up watching the show. peace. :)

  14. Steve Nasty says:

    I’m on the coop bandwagon

  15. Leapin' Leroy Loggins says:

    Alf,

Big deal if Hi Jack was the most versatile player on his team? Did he lead his team to the playoffs? All he’s ever done in the league is leech off Tim Duncan and make a total dickhead out of himself. If I was DJ Stern I would have not allowed him back into the league after his numerous off court discretions.

And most importantly I think last season was a fluke for him from a fantasy ball perspective. I wouldn’t touch him inside the first 6 rounds.

  16. Coop says:

haha exactly ^. Jackson is yet another of those guys who mistakenly thinks he’s owed something by the league. A cretin such as him is lucky to be alive never mind a millionnaire several times over, from playing BASKETBALL no less!!!!

People who ‘deserve’ their money imo are guys like Iverson, Duncan, KG etc, not this walking joke.

You are more than welcome on the wagon, Nasty.

  17. smity far away says:

    @ Dime

““I do not feel my knee right now because I feel my bronze medal right here.” That sounds like something Raef LaFrentz would say, just minus the bronze medal part”

    nice…

  18. smity far away says:

    @ Coop

people like you…i hope you don’t really want to kill yourself because of people, who are talented and trying to make the most of their talent/get the most out of their talent and it’s benefits, like stephen jackson.

i’m thinking that everybody in any league deserve what they are being paid and only deserve more when they make that the situation. whatever you recieve is what you deserve. if you think/believe that you deserve more and you strive to get/prove that you deserve it then you do.

for example, iverson deserved to have a better chance at winning a chip, so he (sorta) sought out a potentially better situation in denver with a better supporting cast and one of the leagues best players (however ask gee about the coaching problem). he felt he deserved more and he is now getting what he deserved (actually, not yet until he gets his chip)

anyway, people like coop and others saying stephen jackson doesnt deserve this or that and is a “cretin” (nice word by the way) for thinking it is like stephen jackson saying coop doesnt deserve to post on dime and is a cretin. can;t nobody say that another person doesnt deserve something that they have the right to (in whatever situation they’re placed in) he got a right to more money/as much as he can make just as we got a right to as much money as we can make…

“maybe if you hadnt pissed all your money away on stupid fucking ‘pimped’ houses, jewellery and pointless cars then you’d be able to feed the next 10 generations of Jacksons without blinking you disgusting mentally deficient piece of shit!”

you sound like an angry person…don;t kill yourself.

    i’m tired of typing

  19. Coop says:

    haha

Smity, I hear your philosohpical point but I think the business mantra ‘it’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it’ holds true here. He might be WORTH a large contract (that is if he gets it, which frankly I don’t think he will) but that doesn’t mean he DESERVES it.
You know, I bet you might sing a different tune if a guy at your place of work was getting paid more but did an inferior job and constantly took unauthorised days off without punishment.

Lastly, if Jackson was a guy who was keeping the league afloat, bringing in the money, and he was implying he should get his fair share of that then I’d support him (at least more than i do now) but he’s held the league back more than once with his presence.

He wants more money now but never once thought that he might be overpaid/not deserving of his money previously. That’s not a show of integrity.

    Coop

p.s you kind of veer towards ‘karma’ in your statement but come on, that’s not what Jax is talking about.

  20. Coop says:

p.p.s making a disproportionate amount of money is a privilege not a right. that goes for you too, Sprewell, you dirty weasel of a man!

  21. Soopa says:

Regarding Houston, the line up they have this year is bound to finally take them deep into the playoffs.
If artest is motivated and willing to play his role, Scola brings his olympic game and tmac/yao keep healthy, im ready to call them a finals candidate!
I dont see the suns doing much this year (well amare might be an mvp candidate but thats it), so “all” the rockets have to do is beat out LA, San Antonio and NOLA lol

  22. Coop says:

Or Scola will be a 13 and 7 guy, they won’t have a pg, artest will go mad and take all the shots, yao and Back-man get injured and they go about .500

    just a thought ;)

  23. schoops says:

@ J from LA… Randolph is on the block all the time because even though he’s 20-10 he’s also out of shape, a shitty teammate, lazy, a perpetual loser, and can’t guard his own shadow. Get him out of nyc this instant.

Throw in Hakim Warrick in that trade, he’d be a perfect sf/pf for a D’Antoni system.

One thing about s. jackson… he may be a pain in the ass, but he is one of the main reasons GS almost won 50 games last season. They were 1-8 (or something?) in the beginning of the season before jackson came back.

  24. Logan Light says:

I should have mentioned yesterday that I also would NOT watch a reality show with Stephen Jackson. I really can’t stand that dude… Honestly, the NBA is better with him overseas. Win-win.

    LL

  25. Soopa says:

    @ Coop

    Or that, yes lol

  26. Prof. TX says:

As for the poll question today: If I’m Rick Adelman and Kobe has the ball for the final play, I put Battier AND Artest on him and make some guy named Sasha try to beat me instead. Trap him at half court and make him give up the possible game winner to a team-mate he doesn’t really trust. Kobe would never get a good shot, and would be lucky to get even a good pass out of that double-team.

  27. Batman says:

Jackson probably has done stupid stuff in the past, I haven’t followed him closely so I only know about the incident with a gun at a nightclub (that was him right?)…but don’t get angry about him wanting money. Almost everyone in the league is trying to get as much money as they can, and almost everyone in AMERICA tries to get as much as they can. That’s part of the American spirit, use your skills to get your piece of the pie.

Jackson and other rich athletes may spend a lot of money on luxuries and extravagances, but it’s THEIR money. They earned it because they have the physical skills and mental skills to play in a professional league that entertains millions of viewers. There’s only 450 or so people who can say they play in the NBA, and Jackson is better than many of them. He’s not a doctor or policeman who directly serves the people, but he is a specialist in entertainment, and you could argue business-wise that this value is worth more than a single doctor because many of us can become doctors but most of us cannot become a professional athlete….think of the Gladiators in Rome, the entertained the people and kept the people happy. Actors and athletes do the same today. I think they do waste a lot of their money on unnecessary things, but the fact is that it’s THEIR money and THEY made it.

  28. Coop says:

Second that^. But if I had to pick one it would artest every time. bit of muscle on him. worst comes to worst (my peoples come first!) ‘test would give up free throws, but the ball wouldn’t get close to the rim.

  29. that's whats up says:

Captain Jack-off don’t deserve the money.

  30. Young Lebron 23 says:

Can they have a JV team for 2010-2011 and the main team competes in 2012?

  31. Coop says:

Yes but Batman we’re talking about whether he DESERVES it. Sure he has a marketable skill, but it’s not a worthy one. Not comparitively. And whether more people have the abiilty to be pro-sportmen rather than doctors isn’t really the issue.

  32. Batman says:

By himself no I don’t think he’s a GREAT player, but on the Warriors he is one of their better ones. His % is not good but I would expect a lot of Warriors to have bad % because they just shoot so much, especially 3 pointers.

Jackson is at least one of their top 3 scorers (along with Monta and Maggette). He may also be their vocal leader with Baron gone…I don’t know if Monta has the mindset to be a real leader (haven’t followed the Warriors closely), and Maggette seems to be a bit of a headcase himself. Jackson probably doesn’t deserve a lot of money in the open market, but to the Warriors is he worth a lot IMO. It’s like how the Bulls gave Deng and the Sixers gave Igoudala a lot of money…I think those 2 are pretty good players, I’m not sure they deserve 11-12 million per year or whatever they get, but those teams had to pay up to make sure they held onto them. I think the Warriors need to at least give him some increase in salary, doesn’t have to be the highest paid but at least the third highest IMO.

  33. K Dizzle says:

“Kevin Duckworth, a two-time NBA All-Star who spent the majority of his 12 NBA seasons as the Portland Trail Blazers’ center, has died. He was 44.”

  34. Coop says:

Ok, Batman, let me respond then I’ll tell you my real problem with this:

On your points, sure he might be better than Beidrins and Monta. Let’s say he’s their best player (he isn’t but lets say he is)- the reason Deng and Iggy got paid is because, like Monta, they’re efficient AND young. Jax is neither. He either knows this and is talking shit like normal or he doesnt and he’s even more of a moron than I thought.

Now, my real problem: Why in Judas should he get a raise? He signed a freaking contract!!! Did you see him say ’sorry for being a twat, Mr Bird, have half my salary back. Oh, and sorry for underachieving too’. Of course you didn’t!

Ungrateful, deluded stoats like him make me chuck! haha

  35. Zach says:

Tom Izzo should be the coach of the 2012 team. He is used to playing atleast a 10 man rotation and finding good minutes for a lot of players (which I think you need when you have a bunch of superstars on 1 team). Not to mention he is one of the top 5 college coaches in the game.

  36. TD says:

Let’s be real… S-Jack is a streak shooter on that only shows up every once in a while. He takes terrible shots and only is getting credit b/c Baron took the warrriors to the playoffs. If I’m the warriors, I let him walk for nothing, you already have better wings in Magette, Monta, Azuibuke(sp?), and anthony randolph can probably give you some minutes at the 3 next year. Shed that cap space by letting both him and harrington go, and get a big name difference maker.

  37. Batman says:

Hmm I thought Jackson was making like 4-5 million a year…looks like he’s getting 7. If the Warriors are really committed to the youth movement then ok, let him walk in 2010. Jackson knows he’s only going to get one more big contract cuz he’ll be 31 or 32 when the current one is done. If I were him I’d just play hard and then find a new team…every year there always seem to be teams desperate to get a free agent.

  38. isotope says:

I dont get teams sometimes. Suns should be thinking about defense yet they give up Strawberry. Houston who is already a good defensive team and needs offense picks up Strawberry whose offense is very limited.

  39. doc says:

Its a lot of hate on this board about other people money. How the hell can somebody come on here and say what somebody deserve?People bash these players and the shit they type on here makes them sound like worse people than any of the ballers. The man was MVP of his team last year and everybody got paid around him.A stupid man would be compelled to say something. You act like he said if they dont give me some more bread Im walking. He said he deserve more and answered a question the way any smart man would by saying he would walk away for 65 mil.Yall should look at yourselves in the mirror and ask why is the hate for another man asking for money so strong you want to kill yourself. If these dudes are such creeps find another sport instead of coming on here to learn about them everyday.Talking about him, what if he came to your job and told your boss he should cut your check short because you spend half your day on dime when you should be doing your work.Because when I see him on the court he going all out.Yall bullshitting at your jobs right now.

  40. Coop says:

Doc, you need a lesson in proportion, son!

I come on Dime but I work 9 hours a day every day and do all my work. And I get paid £23k! You think he DESERVES to fuck around pulling guns, demanding this and that for a team he might not be the best player on and certainly wouldn’t be when his contract runs out. If that’s the cas you’re crazy! You think a doctor should earn less than some chump basketball player? get the fuck outta here!

  41. Drink The Haterade (Kobe Rocks) says:

First off the coach of 2012 should be Nate Mcmillian or Greg Papovich. Second S-Jack doesn’t deserve more money. He’s old and has made a complete ass out of himself his entire career exception would be SA. I could see paying him if he was up and coming, but he’s a has been and never will be. What has he done in his career to think that he can just be disrespectful and come out and say stuff like I need a new contract. If I was Chris Mullin I would tell S-Jack like this ” Do you cyrrently have a contract? S-Jack- “Yes”. CM– “So now you want more money?” SJ– “Yes”. CM– Oh, because you think you deserve it and Mr. Jack what have you done to show us that you deserve this extension? SJ- Well um, you gave Corey, Andri, and Monta more dough. CM– Ah, yes but they are young have more potential and let’s see yes thats it, Monta is a fan favorite. And by the way SJack I aint payin your dumbass another dime.

  42. Drink The Haterade (Kobe Rocks) says:

    The 2012 team should be

    D-Will
    CP3
    B-Roy

Kobe would never get a good shot, and would be lucky to get even a good pass out of that double-team.

Kobe would get the pass out or Artest would foul him with his body. Kobe is a superstar and gets superstar calls, besides every ref has it out for Artest so you’re already scrwed in that scenario. Not to mention that the only chance the game is that close is if Kobe isn’t playing, no way Tmac-Broke back could ever guard KB24

  45. Prof. TX says:

    @44
Wait, so Kobe “rocks” because the refs give him preferential treatment?
    nice

  46. P_Dizzle says:

LOL at Coop and post 9. I agree with most of what you are saying. It’s your opinion and ppl need not get their panties in a wad over it. Agree or disagree, it’s Coop’s opinion.

    RIP Ducky!

  47. Drink The Haterade (Kobe Rocks) says:

    @ Prof Tex–

Maybe you’re misunderstanding… Kobe is a superstar as we all know superstars in the L get superstar calls. Kobe rocks cause he is the best player in the game in fact here what one scout had to say about Kobe

Now its 2008, the Western Conference finals. Bryant is finally where he wants to be: an MVP playing on his team, no behemoth Hall of Famer to get in the way of post-ups, within reach of a title. He is also, by almost all accounts, the best player in the league. “It’s not even close,” says one Western Conference scout. “The difference between him and LeBron [James] is like [the one between] a Maserati and a Volvo.”

Just look at the fourth quarter of Team USA vs Spain Kobe had like 13 pts including the 3 and 1… Nuff said

  48. doc says:

@Coop-When did he demand money?Where does it say that?Read the article again.Where does he DEMAND a contract.Dont get mad because you chose the wrong profession. The article says he SOUNDS like he wants more money than Monta. How do you make that sound? He might want 5 mil a year instead of 3 for all we know. And I know the market for NBA players and S-Jack is a better player than 3 mil a year.Thats 10th man money. The man was a borderline all star last year.Hate all you want but they went 1-8without him and48-25 with him but he’s a ass for SAYING he should get a raise. He pulled a gun once and shot it in the air to get dudes off him.Not the best thing to do but its a thing in these streets called survival, where even if its not the right thing to do when you feel your life is involved you do it.The dude was getting slamdanced by a car and reacted without thinking.I’d like to see you with a gun in your posession while somebody is trying to kill you in see what you do.He shot in the air which I give him props for because if somebody was running me over and I had a gun Im aiming for the head fuck them stars in the sky.Not saying its right but you said he fucks around pulling guns like he does that shit constant. He aint getting no max contract and he aint ask for one.You dont gotta be the best player to ask for a raise, just feel you outperformed your contract.Which he did.Bottom line for me is the man had a hell of a season last year and the year before he shut down the MVP of the league in the playoffs while taking his heart and scoring himself.I’d say thats worth more than 3 mill.I would be with you if he asked for a max deal or even 65 like Monta got but he didnt so Im all for him wanting more.

  49. doc says:

@Drink the haterade-So one quarter tells us all we need to know huh.Fuck the head to head matchups Lebron usually wins, lets just judge by when they on the same team. The last quarter. All the other games were irrelevant when Lebron was getting player of the games.

  50. Getoffme1978 says:

Switching gears here….Sunday’s Gold Medal game between the US of A and the Spaniards was about as exciting and thrilling a pro hoop game that I have seen in years.
    Perhaps, ever.
It was ever so refreshing to see our NBA studs, stripped of their bravado, swagger and attitude and acting simply giddy on the sidelines as the clock was winding down and the post-game interviews.
Also, it was so nice to see all of the players (led by Bron-Bron) walk over and shake Doug Collins’ hand.
Give Spain MAD props. Seriously. They matched Team Redeem bucket-for-bucket and stride for stride. I still find it incredible to think that Spain had a 17-year-old PG. Imagine that? There you are, 17 and Kobe is guarding you? Are you kidding me?
Also, how DOPE was that facial served up by Rudi on Josh Howard? Give Spain all the credit in the world…but give our guys more credit.
Incredible game…does anybody know when it will be played again on TV? I want to record it.
Looking forward to the latest ish of Dime. Keep up the good work, guys.
    What. Off.

  51. GEE...New position at the job ain't what i thought it would be says:

Houston got that Scrawberry! If nothing else he got a nice lookin chick! Hello!

Now if Houston can just stay healthy!

    LORD please?!

  52. jamesinva says:

LOL and WTF @ post #3. what an idiot…

Zach Randolph causes more harm than good. so you sayin just cuz he puts up 20 10 hes a definite keeper? he clogs the middle, plays horrible defense, isnt a hustle guy, has way too many off court issues.

The blazers need to start shedding $? hello? where have you been? thats what they HAVE been doin. kevin pritchard been signing guys to 2-3 years and is paving way to sign their best players easily.

talkin like you know hoops when you got NO idea. pay attention to the game and quit yappn like you s jacks lil bro or some shiet

  53. Coop says:

    Doc,

Whatchu talkin’ ’bout, Willis? Jax will be on 7.6mil this coming season. How much is he worth and was the season they had all on him or might it have been Baron as well, not to mention Monta.

What you seem to be missing is that HE SIGNED A CONTRACT. Why do you think Iggy got paid so much? Is it because he’s a 10 time all-star? No, it’s because over the course of his contract they feel it’ll be good value. Hence it’s different from the job i have, or you have. Do you see? If you’re pissed at your contract that’s your fault, you signed it. And you’ll ultra-dense if you think ‘he got paid so i should get paid’ is how it works in this context. that numb motherfucker wants more money because he’s a greedy weasel and instead of waking up to the fact that he wasted his early playing days fucking around and THAT’S why he hasnt been paid over his career like how i imagine he thinks he should, he’s asking for a fat extention. Well, sorry, Jax, that ship has sailed and you’re not on it.

    p.s thank you Dizzle

@ dime magazine the usa already qualified for the olympics. if u win the gold, which obviously the US did, then u automatically qualify.

  55. GEE...New position at the job ain't what i thought it would be says:

Pesonally I still say they should let countries put out as many squads as they can for basketball. Perhaps rock a tournament joint and let alll the teams get after it.

That way you have a possibility of USA getting a gold and silver, or gold and bronze.

Not to mention that way you possibly have a redeem team type squad playing a New regime team (dang I should copyright that now and just get payed in 2012).

Imagine just on a starting 5 of Kobe, Kidd, LeBron, Dwight and Melo vs. Baron, A.I., Tracy, Beasley and Stat.
I think it would make for an awesome game and you know we would be posting all day long on if this and that.

Spain might be able to get 2 squads out and other countries as well like Russia and others.

I just think it would be fresh and a way to get even more ballin. Yea I know it will prolly neva happen.

    Still would be tight though.

The New Regime Team! 2012! What!

@coop-If he making 7.6 scratch that he right for his market then.I wouldn’t give him 10.I aint mad at your opinion.I just stated what I felt thats what this for.If I dont understand Ima keep coming until I do.If you dont like what I say dont read it or respond.I just understand some of the dudes who get vilified for stuff be getting vilified in the first place for bad reasons. Not talking about the gun.Just talking about a man asking for a raise. Its nothing to get suicidal about.Thats the beauty of this internet shit, you get different perceptions of things. What you think horrible I think nothing of and vice versa.

for the FIBA Americas tourny (assuming we win the WC the year before and it’s just for fun,) I’d say throw out whoever the USA Select Team is and let them get some Int’l experience that doesn’t include getting Gatorade for Kobe. They’re (potentially) fast-tracked to the real squad anyway, so why not?

  58. Coop says:

    Doc,

I’m not mad dude it’s cool :) . I just think it’s a major character flaw that’s all (Jax i mean). Because Monta/Beidrins raises have triggered this, it’s pretty clear he just wants it because they’ve got it. That’s pretty pathetic from a grown man who’s a millionaire imho.

  59. 94by50 says:

I like Celts Fan’s idea. If we win the Worlds, send the Select team to the Americas tournament and get them some run.
