Jannero Pargo Signs with Dynamo Moscow

After a strong showing in the playoffs with the Hornets, Jannero Pargo was shopping his services all around the league. The Spurs, Hawks and Hornets all showed interest in him, but no one had the kind of money that Dynamo Moscow was willing to throw at him.

New Orleans Hornets free agent guard Jannero Pargo, a valued sixth man, has reached an agreement in principle with Moscow Dynamo on a one-year contract worth about $4 million, sources close to the negotiations told Yahoo! Sports.

At Dynamo, Pargo will join forces with former Net Bostjan Nachbar, playing under American-born coach David Blatt. Blatt also serves as the head coach for the Russian National Team.

    We’re seeing a trend here..
“The Euroleague: where sixth-men go to be stars”

  2. BxBaller says:

And another goes. I guess he was expendabe since NO brought in Posey. Is it me or does Pargo’s face look like
    Iron Man’s face.

  3. Austin Burton says:

He should’ve gone to the Spurs and won a title.

  4. Austin Burton says:

    BTW, Spurs just re-signed Finley.

  5. GEE...I will break you. says:

Dang I wouldn’t have mind seeing dude in a Rockets jersey myself.

  6. Daily boy says:

I would have went to, no NBA team was going to break bread like that with him. Good Luck Pargo

  7. Diego says:

Good move for the $. Prof. TX nailed it. Who is next? Has Ben Gordon signed anywhere yet? He’s probably at the airport buying one of those fancy foreign language learning tapes as we speak.

  8. that's whats up says:

    At Austin - post #3

I TOTALLY AGREE AND AM VERY SAD

WE COULD HAVE USED HIM BIGTIME

  9. J-Dot says:

Dang. Get that dough Jannero. You gotta support Jeremy! CP3 is madddd right now. Dang, this prolly means these cats won’t be available on Live ‘09 and NBA 2K9, unless they’re just placed in the free agent rosters…

  10. George W Kush Sr says:

I think he’s worth at most that much. Good for him.
This is another player that Danny Ferry should have picked up before making the move for Mo Williams, but whatever, good luck to Jannero, get yo money man

  11. Celts Fan says:

That’s the equivalent of almost $8M here since it’s untaxed, and they cover a place to live and a car? Good for him. Throw something in the bank to make sure you’re set and come back in a year if you don’t like it, or just be the next JR Holden and get rich as fuck (he hasn’t made a ton of $$$ in his career, can’t blame him.) Moscow was just named the most expensive city in the world and is supposed to be pretty cool, as long as Zaza and Tskitishvili don’t lead Georgia back at Russia and start dropping bombs, he’s got it good.

  12. Luigi says:

upppp very good. Jannero goes to a place where he can get MAJOR PT.

but still Pargo tends to show up during the BIG GAMES

-almost single handly came back vs WSH. in GM 5 of the 1st rd. in ‘05
-helped big time in Hornets ALMOST comeback vs SAS. GM 7 2nd rd. in ‘08
but both games…pargos team ended up losing the series

but the guy is still a G

  13. dagwaller says:

Soooooo, no one here was going to pay him 6 mil a year? I find that hard to believe.

  14. yoda says:

well, thats almost 8 mill in nba dollars, he will get car and place to live, he will be able to play more years then if he stayed in nba (2 games a week, tops). plus, moscow is place to live, especially if you have money.

  15. rob stewart says:

Everyone seems to overlook the fact that when players go overseas and make big money that same money gets taxed by the U.S. if they decide to bring that money back home with them.

  16. AB_40 says:

NO is gonna miss him, big time. The spurs would love him too. Ah well this money is hard to say no to. Plus the house, the car, school for his family? or model groopies haha

  17. Vance says:

Sad to see em go, He was fun to watch in the playoffs last season, and I liked his game. It shouldn’t be to long before euroleague games are on US TV if they aren’t already (anybody). We all know we would watch that shit.

  18. Tha Brain says:

Im worried about these overseas Basketball Leagues offering much more money to our NBA players and the NBA losing many more Stars because the NBA’s tight with there money!! Wake up were at War with Russia for players now too!

  19. Tha Brain says:

I agree im from New Orleans and we are gonna miss Pargo Big Time!!! Coach Scott did win Coach of the Year and he’s gonna have to put his skills to use because Mike James is nowhere near as talented as Jannero Pargo and will NOT make an impact like Pargo did!
