Minnesota Timberwolves New Uniforms
Mike Miller Lookin’ FreshA couple of weeks ago Andrew Katz and I shot up to Westchester County, New York for the NBA’s Rookie Photo Shoot/Media Day. Most of the 2008 Draft Class was in attendance wearing their new jerseys and taking photos for their first set of trading cards.
While I was up there I hollered at Kevin Love, who had on the normal Timberwolves shooting shirt along with some sick shorts that I hadn’t seen before. I followed him to the next photo station to take a peek at the whole ensemble. I remember saying to Andrew that the ‘Wolves are trying to get fresh for next season.
With KG in Boston now, ‘Wolves fans are looking at their young players to bring in a new era of basketball in Minnesota. Al Jefferson, Randy Foye, Rashad McCants, newly acquired Mike Miller, and lottery pick Kevin Love will try to bring the Timberwolves back to the glory days when they were big dogs in the Western Conference.
While the jerseys are way fresher than the Timberwolves’ unis you are used to, some remnants from the ‘Wolves’ past are represented. Back in their inaugural season Minnesota’s jerseys had ‘Wolves’ written on the front.
Ok Al, We See You!In an ode to the past, the new home game jerseys will feature ‘Wolves on them as well. The road jerseys will bear the words; ‘Minnesota’ on them instead of the traditional ‘Timberwolves’ wordmark.
Released today, fans can order their jerseys on www.ShopWolves.com now, and purchase them at the NBA store in the upcoming months. Hopefully the new threads will help the young ‘Wolves on the court, because when you look good you play good.

i saw a small pic of em on k-love a few weeks ago, and that picture made them look ugly. maybe it’s just how goofy k-love looks in anything, but man. once i see the whole thing they look pretty awesome. i love the sides of the shorts and jersey.

yoyo these are tight unis to bad they aint gonna do much this season, they need to make a package out of brewer and foy and bring in caron butler from wizards then they got a legit chance in making the playoffs in the west with an upset of not being swept

The Wolves were only ‘big dogs in the Western Conference’ for 1 season with Spree & Cassell. Other than that, they were the current-day Nuggets. One star (KG, ‘Melo) putting together a nice regular season, with flame-outs in the first round.
The shorts look a little cartoonish.

I saw the pic of m.miller and thought for a second that the WNBA lynx had gotten new jerseys…I’m not sure if what’s worse, thinking Miller was a WNBA player or that WNBA players look like ugly dudes with long hair…
There are a few exceptions but it’s certainly not like watching women’s beach volleyball.

there’s nothing as frustrating as playing pick-up ball with a team mate who was chosen ’strictly’ for his gear, u know, kicks and all and cant play squat. It even more frustrating when he is tall as well..

The Wolves would look a lot better if they were trotting out OJ Mayo instead of K-Love. Too bad McHale is the GM cause this team has been handed the opportunity to be great a few times but McHale declined.
Mayo and Foye would have been a nasty backcourt. Where is Love gonna play, 4? 5? I think he and Al are too small for the 5 in today’s game of 7 footers…again..too bad about McHale.

I don’t know, I think they’re even uglier than their old uniforms. I wonder how long it took them to find the ugliest blue and green combination on the planet and then to think it was a good idea to put cartoon/Christmas-y looking trees on them.
The Wolves is such a wicked name for a team I just wish for once in their franchise’s history they could sport some gear that was as bad ass.
