We Reminisce: The Double Nickel
If you must have an explanation … In his fifth game back from the baseball hiatus of 1993 to ‘95, Michael Jordan dropped 55 points on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Keep in mind, this is back when the Knicks were good. Very good. Defending-Eastern-Conference-champions good. Wearing #45, Mike lit up John Starks and Co. on 21-of-37 shooting from the field and 10-of-11 at the stripe. And he assisted on the game-winner. But the sickest play on here might be the one turned in by Scottie Pippen at the 1:40 mark.

Are you going to make a “We Reminisce” when MJ came back to save the Looney Tunes from the Monstars?

The one thing I noticed was MJ’s consistent shooting trajectory. The ball hit nothing but net for most of the shots I saw. He wasn’t just hot that night. Obviously, with him being the greatest, it’s not hard to recognize that quality. But still, it’s a sight to see. Helps me get proper perspective on today’s players. Cats need to step their game up!

@J-Dot
You’re absolutely right. Jordan’s mid range game was unbelievable. He could pull up ANYWHERE and absolutely stroke it.

This video brings back great memories of when basketball seemed so pure and innocent. MJ and Scotty have to be the greatest Batman and Robin combo ever.

I love how you could predict an MJ outburst, just by watching him after he makes like 2 in a row…he starts getting that look in his eye, like “oh here we go!”

Funny thing about Scottie:
Dude used to sacrifice his LIFE for them dunks back in the day, right? Dude would just get the dunk and then land on his neck…’member the playoffs against….Miami I think? Series closing, buzzer beater, land on tailbone stuff! Gotta love that dude

how is this even a discussion. look at the knicks defense back then and the dantoni era “defense” of today.
its a different game. my mom could score 60 on today’s knicks.
