2000 Western Conference Finals: Lakers Rally To Drop Blazers

Before Shaq asked Kobe how is a** tastes, the Lakers were in the business of winning chips. En route to the NBA crown in 2000, they looked just as good as done before the Portland Trailblazers imploded. Peep this video of Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals and Shaq playing volleyball with the Blazers shot attempts.

I dont know who you are Kyle…But I like your work!
Some good songs on this video too.
I almost feel bad for scottie, he was one of my all time fav players, but then again he has 6 rings. The Lakers of this time were a damn machine with shaq in his prime-good mix of youngsters and vets. Damn! I’m getting jacked up for this season. Go Lakers.

Those were the days… loaded with shooters – Rice, Harper, Shaw, Kobe, a young Rob.

That oop at the end was COLD.

    Talk about a soul crusher…

Let me tell a quick anecdote…..So My junior of High School we are set to play Dominguez and in walks Tyshaun Prince and some one on my team, says “Yo thats the Kid thats going Pro” and my team is like “DAMN SHAQ IS GOING TO BE MASHING ON HIM” and I am like “HELL Naw that aint him thats Prince he has a brother who plays for Pepperdine” then a few minutes later Chandler walks in in street clothes (he didnt play) and I tell my team “Thats the CHandler kid” …my homie then says “SHAQ IS STILL BANGING ON THAT KID” and i was like “dude is a freshman no way he goes to college”. Sure enough three years later he went pro. But the thing I remember most about Dominguez high was the year before they had Kenny Brunner and he terrorized people on defense …… Who remembers the PG from Providence named Linehan?? damn got the fucking guy play D

That has to be a painful 5 minutes for Blazers fans. All-time collapse, and the Blazers never recovered. Ouch. Here they come, though.

That oop at the end is fucking rediculous, one of the most memorable plays for me.

    I hated that game.

if I was a blazer, I would have gone home that night..looked myself in the mirror and contemplated suicide…I mean, you’re up 15 points at one point in a playoff game and you decide to get sloppy…goddamn.

  • Three Stacks

I remember this game so well. 2000 game 7 against Portland, 2002 game 4 against Sacramento, 2006 game 4 against Phoenix, probably some of the best playoff games ever.

Lakers were absolutely DONE in this game, down by 15. They were playing bad defense, no flow on offense. Then we had one possession where none of the players were moving around or anything, and Brian Shaw threw up a HORRIBLE 3 that somehow banked in. Then he buried two more during the run, Lakers win, and Scottie Pippen attacks a giant plastic bag on his way back to the locker room.

  • Habitual Line-Stepper

actually it was a giant pile of towels three stacks LOL. i was hatin hard on the Lakers back then, wanted to see Pip get one of his own.

  • David Klingelsmith

The best part ( besides the lob, I still get the chills ) is in the beginning of the video. Steveie Smith hits the three and I swear he says ” its over now ” .

  • JDig89

i think he says “its on now” … but shaq gets up for a big boi

Could either team beat the Celtics? Probably.

  • webbie352

    shit was horrible…

i remember being sooooo mad after this game.

kobe was rocking the shit outta pip down the stretch
just str8 demolishing him at the top of the key.

yooooooooooo allan houston signed with the knicks!!

  • yoda

this is one of best series i have ever seen. if shaq and kobe couldve put theirs diferences aside, who knows how many chips they would have.

  • http://n/a Heaven Is A Playground

Who cares about how many chips shaq/kb8 could have won, I’m glad they departed. yeah I’m hating a bit, but that’s because sheed and the boys should have that series. Dime is getting me all worked up over a series that happen a long time ago, but that game seems like yesterday to me. I actually miss those days, going to basketball clinics and camps and than going back to the hotel room to watch the series. Sheed was nasty in game 6, the best part about that game was when sheed dunked on horry, and horry fell on his ass.

  • http://n/a Heaven Is A Playground

or wait that was game 7. my bad.

  • Big Ael

He is professional. There are lots of his fans on ___tallloving.com___ for professional athletes, moive stars and modles talking about him recently? BTW, guys, lots of sexy girls and models turn up there. I’ve been there for day, it seems the girls are not hard to hook up.

  • bsteezy3

Aww man, painful memories! I was cheering for Scottie Pippen like a M.F.!! They blew that game big-time!

  • Suciniac

Best team never to win a chip.I still hate the Lakers for that.

  • Ian

id say no more after the 3
so i think shaq got lucky yo be sent to miami and won one more
after the 04 lost to the pistons the spurs and mavs got better i dont think the lakers that threepeated could get past them.

how about 97 knicks 95 spurs 02 kings 98 pacers 06mavs all better than this portland team
    at least i think so

  • Gerard

Man this was my favorite Kobe, before all the prima donna stuck up stuff. He was just young & having fun.

  • Kudabeen

It’s an even better clip at the end of this clip. It has Kobe vs MJ 98 matchup, where they contrast MJ and Kobe’s performances and the keep saying how Kobe’s the future and you get to watch the two interact. Cool clip. I remember watching that game. I think the game after or before the Lakers Blow the bulls out in LA…Good stuff.

  • thomas

r there 2 number 34s for da lakers

  • luke

damn nice pickup employee #7, he looks so skinny. you wouldn’t think hes going pro…
