Howard gets higher, no doubt.. but no-one dunks in traffic , and even directly over top of people like Amare.

Watch Superman’s clip.. he’s open on half those highlights. In half of Amare’s, someone (and sometimes two guys) had to be picked up off the floor.

I’m going with Dwight Howard. Stat is definitely has a little extra game because he can show a little finesse, but Dwight’s dunks are so freaking impressive. Every time he goes with 2 hands it looks crazy. And that oop at play 5 was sick…

Plus, who else catches an oop from out of bounds, over Timmy, for the game winner. That’s so nasty.

Plus Dwight’s just an amazing athlete for his height.. He can’t dribble or shoot. You could line Amare up at 3 positions and he’d posterize every defender you threw at him.. with a new move for each of the poor bastards.

Well we only saw 10 Dwight dunks and like 25 Amare dunks so not a good sample size for comparison.

Ferocity – Edge STAT

i think a defender is more likely to get out of the way of a dwight jam and he has more agility than amare.

@ A-Slam when we are talking about dunking yes I think Amare is 9 times out of 10 going to dunk one handed as hard as he can..not hating I’ve just seen him dunk the same way alot! He has a more all around game..mid range shot..he can dribble well for his size..but we’re talking about dunking! Plus most of those dunks were from before the knee surgery..so Amare says he’s finally healthy, we’ll see!

Unfortunately there are several readers who are saying that STAT wins this contest because he is more versatile, has a jump shot, can make his free throws, etc.

The question is WHO IS A BETTER DUNKER? I’ll admit that I think Amare is a better player. But the dunks are too nasty on Howard’s side to not give it to him.

If I’m building a team, I want Amare. If I want to crush someone’s soul, I’ll take Dwight. End of discussion.

interesting. i’ve gone back and forth on this. Especially since they are identical in their dunks. In-game dunks, I think i’ll give it to Amare. But DH does have some creativity up his sleeve for dunk contests. I think neither are THAT good. Couldnt hold a candle to Shawn Kemp but i’ll give it to DH. Barely.

Dwight is done a disservice with the video selection. That top 20 video or any video containing his dunk last year when he was being held and it was three people guarding him in the lane and banged on all of them and got the And-1. Dwight is a better. Power as well as lift leaves me dumbfounded…

Dwight still is a better dunker… who knows how STAT would be if he aint have the ssurgery.

People are choosing Dwight because of last year’s slam dunk contest. Shoot, the superman dunk that Dwight did wasn’t even a dunk and his dunks were overrated. Gerald Green should have won it(try dunking with just the socks on and see how hard it is and freaking he blew out a cupcake)… Pre-surgery Amare would have won this without an argument. Even after-surgery Amare is a better in-game dunker. You don’t see Dwight take off and just dunk on someone in games.

Gotta go with STAT. He’s a little more athletic, quicker, and more explosive. He can also put some spinning in his dunks as a result of being a little shorter also. Howard has powerful dunks, he just doesn’t have the fineness that Amare has.

P.S. Dwight has more creativity and they only reason amare does wrap around dunks on people is bc he has 2 manuever 2 get his dunks off unlike Thunder
