It’s quality, not quantity. Look at the dunks KJ had. Are they better than Baron’s best dunks. Over Hakeem, over Eaton, over Hot Rod, some sick ones on the break … I’d vote for KJ.

Though I was waiting for you to do a “better dunk” post on Baraon Davis, I have to say, I am disappointed at the comparison. Kevin Johnson? Are you kidding me? Baron Davis should go up against the likes of Steve Francis in his prime or Dwayne Wayne.

Davis is the better dunker overall. No doubt about it. But KJ has THE best dunk between the two. The jam over The Dream has to be one of the greatest all time “dunks over somebody”. Hakeem jumped and tried to block it but Kevin was just not having it!

K.J. had way more sick dunks, and put numerous people on posters, the most memomorable ones from Baron would be the one over K.G and the one over Kirilenko. Let’s also not forget the fact that Baron Davis is a legit 6’4 while K.J. stands at only 6’1 which makes it even more impressive

As far as the dunk mixes shown go, KJ needs more dunks. However, the question ‘who is the better dunker’ suggests quality over quantity. Simple answer: KJ over Baron hands down.

I’m a big Baron Davis fan and liked KJ too back in the day. I’ll put it this way, Baron is more of a threat to dunk on you at anytime and he’s the best PG in the game when it comes to alley-oops, but KJ’s dunks are just filthy and he let you know about it, which today would likely get him a tech.

Baron’s more of a threat to dunk, but KJ was more of a threat to dunk ON you, and his resume proves that.

I gotta give this one to KJ.

I agree with a lot of the later posts. Baron, MIGHT win in a dunk contest between the 2, but K.J. was (more) fearless and posterized a lot of big fellas back in his day. My vote is for K.J.

They both don’t really get up that high for their dunks, they must have great timing.

KJ over Eaton (dude was like 7’4″ and a decent shot blocker) followed up by KJ over The Dream (Recent Hall of Famer) is just nasty.

Baron’s got a better variety of dunks and could pull off things that KJ could only dream of…but KJ going up and over legit C’s is more impressive in my eyes.

Baron’s the better dunker…KJ had the better dunks.

Eaton wasn’t a decent shot blocker, he was defensive POY and an all star. Too bad he didn’t jump…KJ was fearless. The Hakeem dunk puts anything Baron did to shame, including the AK47 dunk.

These two guys have the best 2 non-Starks playoff dunks I’ve seen though.
