GEE...new finishing move...the slap you silly says:
I know I am wrong in my heart, but still I got to go with T-Mac.
September 9th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
I Drop Buckets says:
In game: T-Mac (He practically invented the off the backboard dunk)
Dunk Contest: J-Rich (The boi has bunnies. His b/w the legs, off the backboard is stupid!!)

A-Slam says:
J-Rich
September 9th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Amos Leak says:
J-Rich..No Contest at all..when he jumps…it puts everything in slow motion and you get a chance to see everything…the things he did at the dunk contest killed 90% of probably all dunk contest!

Michorizo says:
J-Rich pero el T-Mac tambie es un chingon para clavar.
September 9th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
bill says:
damn. after watching Tmacs clip I thought no way J-Rich could change my mind but he did. Saying that, very close though.
From who we’ve seen: Nique, Kemp, MJ, Carter, Tmac and J-Rich I gotta say they are the top 6 in game dunkers of all time. Based on sheer quantity to match the quality. I think they only other guy that could come close to having a highlight package as thorough as these guys when it comes to dunking is Kobe.. who you gone pit him against? I guess Lebron can go in there too.. but his carreer needs to get a bit older to make it fairer.
I gotta say though, when its all said and done I think Carter is going to have the sickest all-time highlight video of all time. Cos as well as the dunks he’s hit more circus shots too than anyone else I can think of.
September 9th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Chaos says:
I gotta go with T-Mac on this one just because his in gamer off the backboard made EVERYBODY wanna do it…and not just in all star games but everywhere…..

i just love tmac and his dunking style but jrich is naaasty
September 9th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
smity far away says:
that tmac highlight reel was the most boring dunk reel i’ve seen and regardless, jason richardson is the better dunker. without a doubt.

E$ says:
I’m a Rocket fan, but J-Rich gets my vote
September 9th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
isotope says:
i agree. I prefer the other video clips u guys provided for the other contests. These ones (especially TMacs) were very boring. TMac def has better dunks than those. and i’m not just saying that cuz i’m a Rockets fan. I had that Shawn Bradley posterization as my wallpaper for almost a year. lol. But like the VC vs Jordan question, the better dunker is not always the better player. JRich the better dunker (though i think its close), TMac the better player.

kermit the washington says:
Oh my GOD. At first, I thought it might be a tie, until the end of the JRich video…the last like 6 dunks, cats were straight trying to KILL him on the way down. What’s up with that? I don’t know who the bald cat was, but he grabbed his leg and TWISTED it while dude was still in the AIR?! Dude shoulda got arrested on the spot for attempted MURDER.
JRich wins

Tony says:
J-Rich BEFORE he started jacking up all those threes.
September 9th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
Stan says:
J-Rich has this one, but I dunno if there is anyone that makes dunking look quite as easy as T-Mac does.
September 9th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
it aint easy being green says:
j-rich, not to take away from the mac. both were nasty, but rich got it
September 9th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
TJ says:
J-Rich easy. He’s much more creative in the air and dunks with more power.
September 9th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
GEE...new finishing move...the slap you silly says:
Bill outside of Jordan I would say Kobe and Wade hit more circus shots than Vince. Especially now that Vince is in his Jumper Era.
Just think of T-Mac with no injuries though. How nasty might his highlight reel be then. Stupid conditioning and strength coaches.
Bah!
September 9th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
karizmatic says:
J-Rich won this one, but T-Mac does make dunking look soooo easy, he’s also 6’8. J-Rich is one of the few guys I think actually have or had the skill set to be the “next Jordan”, he like everyone else doesn’t have the mindset though. I guess that’s one reason Jordan picked him up on the Bobcats.
September 9th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Zach says:
J-RICH HANDS DOWN. CHECK HIM OUT WHILE HE WAS AT MICHIGAN STATE DUDE HAS TO BE THE BEST LEAPER THE NCAA HAS EVER SEEN
September 9th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Big Al says:
have to go with j-rich. like someone else said, he almost looked like he was in slow motion when he dunked in game, and the between the legs off the glass was just retarded
September 9th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
Austin Burton says:
@Zach — I think David Thompson gets J-Rich as a leaper.
@GEE — Vince does get a lot of circus shots, though. Iguodala said once Vince was the toughest guy for him to guard because even when you played perfect defense, he’d throw up a bad shot and it would go in.

September 9th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
barons beard says:
J-Rich, hands down here for me. Dunno why, but T-mac’s length makes his dunks seem less spectacular too me
Need to Amare vs someone, dunno who though
September 9th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
GEE...new finishing move...the slap you silly says:
AB no doubt, I ain’t denying he gets his, but I think Kobe and Wade get a lil more now, since they attack the basket a lil more.
I know he probably trying to preserve the career, I just wish Vince would go back to being that old nasty-A$$ Vince. Granted a lot of players shooting more J’s, but I like to see dude’s drive hard and make the spectacular play. Vince still tight he just aint the same to me. It’s almost like dude has lost the excitement ballin used to hold for him or something. Perhaps I am lookin to deep.
Anway T-Mac! Stupid injuries.
September 9th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
kevin k says:
i think people forget how sick Tmac used to be… it was only couple years back when people were debating who was better between Tmac and Kobe. Tmac was by far the better dunker in his prime. JRich is sick and has more power in his dunks but does anyone really remember any of his dunks?? He doesn’t have many posterize dunks while TMAC used to just kill people. People argue that VC is the greatest of all time and he has certain dunks that define his dunkness (7ft french weis or the one on zo). Jrich has none while TMAC has few (shawn bradley? the one on the bulls when he was in toronto). TMAC in his old days.
September 9th, 2008 at 5:51 pm
deeds says:
yeah, you should stick with the top tens rather than these long ones. The T-Mac one was especially BORING. I don’t need to see one handed break away dunks, and two handed alley oops over and over. Hell, even i can pull that off, and I’m a 6″5 white guy (obviously mine aren’t as good, but you get the idea).
J-Rich takes this one easily in my books. He’s able to control his body in mid-air as well as any dunker. T-Mac gets more in game dunks, but J-Rich’s style is just insane.
September 9th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
kevin k says:
so i guess by what most guys are saying, the dude who did 720 or gerald green is the best dunker of all time cuz they had more style when doing an isolated dunk instead of doing it in an actual game or just posterizing others…
September 9th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
HUMANHIGHLIGHT says:
T-MAC makes you wanna go outside, and hurt yourself-tyring to duplicate that madness. There has been other B-ball player (with the exception of his cousin) that makes people just sit back and wonder “why can’t this guy achieve the accolades that Kobe and LeBron have”….then again, I can see why his back is ragged
September 9th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
Gerard says:
I gotta go T-Mac, but that’s because I’ve seen what he can do. Like everyone said, these highlight reels were boring. You gotta bring this one back Dime with better clips.
September 9th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Gerard says:
Oh and can we get an J.R. Rider versus Latrell Sprewell dunk competition going?
September 9th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Brown says:
@James (#27)
It’s Nate Dogg f. Xzibit & Lil’ Mo – Keep It G.A.N.G.S.T.A. from Nate Dogg’s album “Music & Me”
It’s J-Rich, hands down. His dunk contest resume is second only to VC.
Since he’s such a good dunker, I never understood why he couldn’t get to the line more. That’s the biggest knock against him.
Unlike T-Mac, he has been to the second round in the playoffs.
September 9th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
HugotheHornet says:
J-Rich, not even a contest. I misss him on the warriors, him, boom dizzle, and s-jax could of done some serious damage if the managment didn’t suck so much and trade j-rich and let baron go and sign all the people like monta, and maggette to these ridiculuous contracts.
September 9th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
MR. says:
J-Rich 100%
September 9th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Ron says:
The two can’t be compared as they are different types of dunkers. J-Rich is more of a power dunker, while Tracy is more of the finesse dunker. Two different styles, but both of them could throw down with the best of them.
Dime, I know you guys have compared Vince and Jordan, but I feel that the art of dunking has evolved by leaps and bounds since the days of Dr.J, Jordan, to the Vince Carter-esque players of today. However, you guys might have left out one of Jordan’s biggest competitors from back in the day, Clyde the Glide:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU-vSeXskRY&feature=related
sick.
If anyone made dunking look as easy as T-Mac does, it was the Glide.
September 9th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Dagomar says:
Richardson, and it’s not close at all. T-mac can jump (and he’s got a couple inches on J-Rich), but come on . . . that dunk contest alone seals it. Another big one would be Lebron VS Kobe . . . Kobe’s got the dunk contest but I choose Lebron in that contest. Good call from Ron with the Drexler reference, that guy is underrated.

j-rich, its a shame that dude was in the underworld(oakland) cuz hes an allstar caliber talent he wasted years there
September 9th, 2008 at 11:53 pm

-que st??? all star caliber talent? yea right he cant even lead the bobcats to a playoff with emeka, gerald w, and felton in the crappy eastern conference

t-mac-for the simple fact that j-rich could only jump off 2 feet, while t-mac could do either 1 foot or 2 feet takeoffs

J-Rich!
T-Mac is not as creative as J-Rich. Or have you ever seen McGrady throwing down a 360?

AB40 says:
J-rich although T-mac is one of my favorite players.
J should dunk on more people though
September 10th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Ryan says:
There are some dumb dime readers, Tmac no contest…j rich is only getting alittle love cuz the team he was on, the warriors, you put tmac on that team and watch him show out, plus that highlight wasnt that great, idk who put together that but they must be tmac haters, ive seen way better from him…come on dime readers step up ya game, your letting me down with j-rich love
September 10th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
jace says:
j-rich by far. t-mac can dunk.. but he doesnt have HALF the dunks j-rich has in his arsenal.
