Sam Cassell Re-Signs With Celtics

Word just came that Sam Cassell has re-upped with the Celtics for next season.
We’re assuming that it’s for the veteran’s minimum, and we’d also assume that he knows going in that’s going to be behind Rajon Rondo and Eddie House. The guy is 38 and had ZERO in the tank at the end of last season, so this move is most likely to keep Cassell in the mix as a player/coach/mentor for Rondo. If that’s the case, this is a good move.

Marcus says:
He should teach Rondo the big balls dance.
They better keep him out of the court until postseason, because he looked like he was 80 years old out there. Just picture him sitting on the bench with a scarf and a cane, There you go. 80.

Celts Fan says:
I’ve always been a big fan of his game (until we got him last year anyway.) I think a training camp/preseason with the team to really get integrated into the offense w/out having to learn on the fly should make a world of difference. Right? Hopefully…
