We Reminisce: Jerry Stackhouse, the next Michael Jordan
If you remember Jerry Stackhouse‘s two-year run at North Carolina, you remember why some people were calling him the next Jordan, or why some later called Vince Carter the next Stack. Something to think about: If the careers of Stackhouse and Grant Hill had panned out the way everyone had predicted, wouldn’t FILA currently be right up there as one of the sneaker company giants in the game?

FILA wouldn’t be up there because the shoes were terrible.

Maybe FILA is the reason the careers didn’t pan out.
Get some better shoes and your legs won’t get injured. HAHA

dat dude says:
okay i stopped looking a minute and a half into it, got bored. Were there any highlights that weren’t mostly unguarded dunks? THAT’S what had people calling him the next MJ? No wonder he didn’t “pan out”, based on what i just saw he exceeded expectations.
I think Antawn Jamison looked like the best UNC player going into the draft since MJ.

Stan says:
Now-a-days, this highlight reel would be considered pedestrian. Jerry Stackhouse’s level of athleticism would be considered average compared to today’s athlete. However, he was and still is a talented baller.

Drink the Haterade (KB24 Chip 09) says:
UNC had a sic squad with him and Rasheed. I remember the announcers talking about how VC and Antwan were going to UNC the following year. Now that team back then in college would’ve killed.
McInnis at the 1
Vince Carter at the 2
Jerry Stackhouse at the 3
Antwan Jamison at the 4
Rasheed Wallace at the 5
That line up would of killed any team.

cash money says:
Jerry Stackhouse would not be considered only a “average” athlete by todays standards. I mean he isn’t an unbelieveable freak like lebron but he is a great athlete notheless. Take lance stephenson for example. I’ve seen his highlite films he’s not that fast and he doesn’t even come close to jumping as high as stack. Is lance a shitty athlete by today’s standards? Oh and for the person that said all he has is uncontested dunks didn’t see the dunk against duke and stopped watching before 3:17. That dunk against NC state was nasty and he created it off a great jab move too.

Stop hatin’, so what if the highlight reel is a little weak for the first two minutes, i gives a damn if Harold Miner got a better tape, dude was a BUM. The hot shit is around 3:25 or so, somebody from Maryland gets some nuts on his chin, and then you see Sheed over there crackin up. those were the good old days. them shits was fun.
And maybe Stack wont the next Jordan, but he alright, he still in the L getting his.
