We Reminisce: Kobe Bryant baptizes Dwight Howard

The announcer is so flustered, he calls Dwight Howard “Josh Howard.” Kobe later described this as the play where he “baptized” Dwight. And look out for Pat Garrity‘s admirable attempt at stopping Kobe on his way to the rim.

   what is amazing is when you keep an eye on Kobe’s footwork going up for the dunk. he barely plants his front foot, doesnt bend the knee, getting no leverage, yet somehow is able to elevate that high. his momentum looked like it was going to carry him forward, but not high like that. it was so fast that dwight had no idea kobe was going up for the dunk

    What the hell was Dwight thinking? He was behind the line which should’ve been a foul, then again it’s pretty harsh to call that on him after being teabagged like that, and that my friends concludes todays episode of basketball theater. I’m out like Dwight saying he doesn’t know what balls taste like peace!

    kobe has humiliated Dwight twice now. 1st with that dunk. 2nd with his failure to D Rudy Fernendez with his lazy steal attempt and allowing Rudy to posterize Dwight for Kobe’s mistakes. Kobe is Dwight’s kryptonite

    I’ma keep it real, in terms of impact that T-Mac over Bradley in the Rockets-Mavs playoff series was probably hotter, but this was over D-Howard.

    Gerard, everyone and there mothers dunked on Bradley. Best Damn Sports Show could make an episode titled “Best 50 Dunks on Shawn Bradley” and they still have more then enough left for an honorable mention section. This is Kobe putting his nuts Dwight Howard face and saying welcome to the league big man. This dunk is just plane nasty. Howard’s just lucky he had his hands up… Kobe might’ve just showed Vince what it’s like to jump over a man (instead of a surrendering Frenchie bitch).

    Kobe over howard was nasty.after all. barely ANYBODY does that to him anymore. i was watching NBA stories n when they showed the dunk. Dwight was like…..[blank]…… i was goin LMAO.

    but what amazes me is what dwight became and what steve francis became. i mean Kobe could go back when he retires. and say. “I Dunked over that guy..posterized his ass” and thats when dwight becomes the 2nd coming of Shaq + FT’s
